ASRock has released the latest AGESA 1.0.0.7 BIOS microcode for its flagship X670E Taichi motherboard with enhanced support for faster DDR5 memory.
ASRock's Latest X670E Taichi "AGESA 1.0.0.7" Motherboard BIOS Offers Enhanced DDR5 EXPO & XMP Memory Support
The motherboard manufacturer announced a brand new BIOS microcode based on the AGESA 1.0.0.7 firmware "1.28.AS01[Beta]" for its flagship X670E Taichi motherboard. This new BIOS is a beta release but tuned to offer the best memory compatibility and support for high-frequency DDR5 DIMMs on Taichi boards.
In multiple screenshots, ASRock demonstrates running a dual-channel DDR5-7200 "EXPO" kit on its X670E Taichi motherboard using the latest BIOS and you can see that the board runs the memory fine without any issues. The CPU used is an AMD Ryzen 9 7950X3D and the specific memory DIMMs are from G.Skill "F5-7200J3445G16G". These are Trident Z5 NEO modules with specs of CL34-45-45-115 at 1.40V.
You can see in the RunMemtestPro test that the ASRock X670E Taichi was running the DDR5-7200 memory modules with an average coverage of 129.15% and an uptime of around 1 hour. This is a good sign for stability and the manufacturer has taken additional steps to ensure that it's not just memory but also the overall board's stability that gets improved using the latest BETA BIOS.
We're also told that the BIOS maintains a 1.3V SOC voltage but you can run the same DDR5-7200 at a SOC voltage of as low as 1.2V which is very much within the safe limits advised by AMD. This will ensure that the CPUs don't get supplied with excess voltage when running higher-frequency kits and run into major problems down the road like the ones we saw a few months back. This is great stuff from ASRock since users running the X670E Taichi motherboard are expected to get the fastest DDR5 memory kits for their PCs.
