Another one of those unreleased NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3080 Ti GPU variants featuring 20 GB of VRAM has been unearthed on Facebook.

NVIDIA's GeForce RTX 3080 Ti GPU had an unreleased variant that was expected to feature 20 GB GDDR6 memory however It never appeared in mainstream markets. But, a Facebook marketplace listing has unearthed the GPU along with relevant benchmarks.
For a quick recap, NVIDIA was working on several variants of the GeForce RTX 3080 Ti prior to its official release. These variants featured bumped-up memory, but later, the company decided not to release it due to several reasons (mainly cost and volume). It affected several board partners since production of the GPU had already been initiated. Rather than abandoning the GPUs, they were sold to crypto miners (which can be seen through marks on I/O ports) through third-party channels since board partners weren't permitted to sell the GPU in retail markets.
Coming back, the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3080 Ti 20 GB GPU that has surfaced is the MSI SUPRIM X variant, one of the high-end in the Ampere lineup. It has a similar design language with the usual triple-fan configuration and a chunky heatsink. Based on the attached GPU-Z screenshot, the GPU features 10,496 CUDA cores and 20 GB of GDDR6 memory powered by the Ampere GA102 chip. Interestingly, the GPU also comes with support for overclocking which is kind of nice since this is a non-production GPU.
The card was tested in 3DMark TimeSpy, achieving a whopping 21.9K points. The base variant of the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3080 Ti reached 19.6K points; hence there are noticeable performance uplifts. However, it is essential to note that the "unreleased" GeForce RTX 3080 Ti was tested without NVIDIA's official drivers so this GPU could have been more capable if it had been released.
The seller on the Facebook marketplace has listed the GPU for $1100 AUD/ USD $743. While the asking price is enormous but this is expected for a card that is difficult to acquire. While we can't comment on the potential success of this GPU, it could've been a decent option for those looking to get high GPU VRAM without breaking the bank.
