XMG has expanded its Studio Laptops & Desktops lineup with new additions that come with the latest GPUs, Vapor Chamber cooling & more.
XMG's Latest Studio Laptop & Desktop PCs Are Made Even Better With Pro 16 Studio & Studio X Designs
On the Laptop side of things, XMG is introducing its brand-new PRO 16 Studio which has two main features, it's XMG's first RTX Studio-Certified laptop and comes with vapor chamber cooling. Users can expect all the top-notch specifications such as an Intel Core i9-13900H CPU with 14 cores & 20 threads, GPU options ranging from NVIDIA's GeForce RTX 4060 & up to an RTX 4070 (115W TGP), & a vapor chamber cooling solution for both the CPU & GPU along with the VRMs.
The XMG PRO 16 Studio is a very thin design that measures 359.5 x 273 x 19.9mm which is in part thanks to the vapor chamber cooling solution. The whole thing weighs 2.56kg. Other specs include up to 64 GB DDR5-5200 memory support, two M.2 Gen4 slots (heatpad included), and a range of IO that includes Thunderbolt 4, two USB-A 3.2 Gen1 ports, USB-C 3.2 Gen2 and a microSD card reader. Wi-Fi 6E and a 2.5 gigabit ethernet port. Display outputs include HDMI 2.1 and a Mini DP1.4 port.
The display for the laptop is an X-Rite certified WQXGA panel with a 2560x1600 resolution support, 350 nits of brightness, and a fast 240Hz refresh rate in a 16:9 layout. There's also a MUX switch that allows easy switching between the NVIDIA dGPU and the Intel iGPU. Pricing of the base model will start at €1,749 with the RTX 4070 GPU upgrade costing an additional 295 Euros. The laptop is now available for pre-order and shipments start by the end of August.
Now coming to the second announcement, we have the XMG STUDIO X which is a Desktop PC that focuses on the content creator segment along with gamers. One key feature of this desktop PC is that it has been designed to offer minimal DPC latencies which is achieved through various testing procedures, customized BIOS profiles, and the selection of precise components.
The reason for this wide range, apart from the different application areas, is also the effect of the GPU choice on the DPC latencies: While NVIDIA GeForce graphics cards can cause short-term latency spikes even with studio drivers, the effect is less apparent when choosing a model from AMD and is even lower with a professional NVIDIA RTX graphics card (this statement is based on XMG's own measurements with current drivers, at the time of the product launch).
Those who value the lowest possible DPC latencies for audio productions get the best results when using Intel's integrated UHD graphics chip - however, only two external monitors can be connected to the desktop PC with this graphics option. It is therefore possible to equip the STUDIO X with a dedicated graphics card for high-performance applications, or, especially for audio recording, to run up to two monitors temporarily at the outputs on the motherboard via the iGPU - if this is preferred by the individual use case.

Filing in the hardware specs, we have the Intel Core i5-13600K and up to Core i9-13900KS CPUs, up to NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4090 and AMD Radeon RX 7900 XTX GPUs, a high-airflow design that comes with a Fractal Design Torrent case and a selection of ASUS Z790 ProArt motherboards. Other specs such as memory and SSDs can be configured by the users too with the base model starting at 1399 Euros.
