NVIDIA’s next-gen RTX 50 series GPUs have been listed at the ECC by AFOX but let's no get the hype rolling too soon.
AFOX Listing Reveals "Shady" NVIDIA GeForce RTX 50 Series GPUs, Expect to be Surprised
Before diving into the crux, it is essential to note that AFOX is a Taiwan-based company and isn’t NVIDIA’s official board partner, which suggests that you should take this rumor with a pinch of salt. AFOX can be categorized as a separate OEM company that repackages NVIDIA GPUs and sells them without adhering to standard guidelines. However, knowing about the ECC listing is still interesting, as it may reveal NVIDIA’s approach towards “Blackwell” GPUs.
The company has filed for several NVIDIA GeForce RTX 50 series models, including the RTX 5090 Ti, RTX 5090, RTX 5080 Ti, RTX 5080, RTX 5070 Ti, RTX 5070, RTX 5060 Ti, RTX 5060, RTX 5050 Ti, and the RTX 5050. As you can tell, this is just early guesswork from AFOX and nothing else. NVIDIA is still far from finalizing its next-gen RTX 50 lineup and knowing how the green team works, we won't know anything for sure until or unless we are super close to the launch and considering that the RTX 40 series is still fresh out of the oven, we are hardly going to get the next-gen anytime soon.
This isn’t the first time AFOX has posted a “fishy” ECC listing since, as a Russian company under AFOX, listed the Radeon RX 5950 back in 2020, but the GPU never made it to the light.
However, several reports surrounding Blackwell GPUs have surfaced in the past, but for now, you should anticipate a release near 2025 since NVIDIA is also rumored to be planning a “Ada Lovelace” refresh. AFOX’s listing is just a ballpark guess, and it all depends on how Team Green decides to pan out the Blackwell GPUs since they are anticipated to take computing performance to the next level.
