The AMD Radeon RX 6650 XT GPU has reportedly entered the discontinuation phase and will be seeing some major price cuts at retailers soon.
AMD Radeon RX 6650 XT GPUs Are Going EOL & They Can Be Bought At Lower Prices Than RX 7600
The AMD Radeon RX 6650 XT graphics card launched last year with the RDNA 2 Refresh GPU family. The card was seen as a decent offering that delivers a nice boost in performance over the RX 6600 & current prices have made it a good option for gamers in the sub-$ $300 US segment. We saw the card matching the Radeon RX 7600 in gaming performance and even excelling over it while utilizing a similar core configuration, albeit with a different GPU architecture.
Now according to China's Board Channel Forums, it has come to light that AMD is in the process of discontinuing its Radeon RX 6650 XT as it has essentially been replaced by the Radeon RX 7600. The company is already working with its partners to offer post-sales support and will formalize a plan to lower inventories by offering discounts and promos through retail partners.
It is mentioned that the AMD Radeon RX 6650 XT GPUs will be out of stock by the end of September which is next month. The red team has already ended production of the GPU chips for the RX 6650 XT and at the current moment, the graphics card has seen some big price drops. It has reached the lowest price of 1739 RMB or $235 US in China while in the US, you can currently grab the card for a low price of $224.99 and you are also getting an added copy of Starfield which is a $60 US value to go along with the card.
The AMD Radeon RX 6650 XT also does support the upcoming FSR 3 upscaling technology though the more advanced Anti-Lag+ and HYPR-RX features are only limited to the Radeon RX 7000 series which starts with the $269 US Radeon RX 7600. The Radeon RX 7600 also hit a low price of $229 US which we reported a few days ago.
