Yesterday, publisher Fulqrum and developer Dreamate Games unveiled New Arc Line, an upcoming single player cRPG set in a world at a crossroads between magic and steampunk, inspired by the technological revolution of the early 20th century USA.
Here's the setting overview provided via press release:
Your journey starts in the shining metropolis of New Arc. Thousands of immigrants, mages, and technologists of various races arrive here by steamboats and zeppelins searching for a better life. But beneath the golden facade, social tensions are mounting, segregation, inequality, and corruption run rampant. A civil war is looming. One single immigrant might tip the balance and decide the fate of this world.
Dreamate Games, a newly established Ukrainian developer formed by ex-GSC Game World, 4A Games, Frogwares, and Wargaming employees, has been working on New Arc Line for a while, having won the Unreal Engine Dev Contest in 2020 and subsequently receiving the Epic MegaGrant.
In the game, players will be free to master the art of magic or invent deadly gadgets, but that's just the tip of the iceberg. Stealing, diplomacy, and even romance are promised, alongside the exploration of a diverse world that includes the aforementioned burgeoning metropolis as well as magical forests. Combat will take place in a turn-based fashion.
New Arc Line is scheduled to launch on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series S|X next year. The game's official Steam page should go live shortly, allowing users to wishlist the title ahead of the upcoming release.
