Sapphire has become the first AIB partner to introduce an MBA (Made by AMD) model for the Radeon RX 7800 XT GPU.
Sapphire Takes The Lead With Reference Model, Several Variants Being Prepped For Navi 32 GPU Launch With Starting Price of $499 US
For those unaware of MBA variants of AMD Radeon GPUs, they are the reference model that is being retailed by either Team Red themselves or any other board partner, in this case, Sapphire. There isn't much difference among reference models offered by AIB partners and AMD, apart from the fact that there may be some branding changes depending upon the retailer you choose.
AMD announced on the reveal of its Radeon RX 7000 "Navi 32" GPUs that the Radeon RX 7700 XT will be deprived of a "reference" variant, while the Radeon RX 7800 XT will be available in reference and custom designs from AMD and its partners.
Sapphire has always been one step ahead when introducing top-tier variants for AMD's GPUs, and today is no exception. The Sapphire Radeon RX 7800 XT MBA sticks to the stock specifications.
In terms of specifications, the AMD Radeon RX 7800 XT 16 GB graphics card features 60 Compute Units or 3840 stream processors. The graphics card reaches up to 2430 Hz boost clocks which can provide up to 37 TFLOPs of FP32 Compute horsepower. There are also 60 RT Accelerator cores, 120 AI accelerator units, and 96 ROPs for this specific Navi 32 SKU. The graphics chip features a TBP of 263W.
- RX 7800 XT - Navi 32 XT / 3840 Cores / 16 GB GDDR6 / 263W / $499
- RX 6800 XT - Navi 21 XT / 4608 Cores / 16 GB GDDR6 / 300W / $649
Memory specifications include 16 GB GDDR6 memory which operates at pin speeds of up to 19.5 Gbps across a 256-bit wide bus interface. This provides the card with 624 GB/s but there's also 64 MB of Infinity Cache which provides increased effective bandwidth. The graphics card will feature a brand new dual-slot and dual-fan reference cooling solutin.
AMD's Radeon RX 7800 XT will be officially launched on September 6th, hence we could see more details about MBA variants on launch day. Apart from Sapphire, several AIB partners are prepping to release new models of the recently-announced Navi 32 GPUs, and you can take a look at an extensive variant roundup here.
