The recent flurry of quality triple-A game releases includes FromSoftware's latest game, Armored Core VI: Fires of Rubicon. The new installment in the mech vehicular combat game is another hit by FromSoftware, having earned a 9 out of 10 score in Wccftech's review penned by Kai Powell:
From Software has created its pinnacle mech-fighting opus with Armored Core VI: Fires of Rubicon. The faster pace of combat and higher difficulty may deter newcomers from strapping in for the first time but there’s truly something special at play here. If the pace of Elden Ring leaves you wanting more or you simply want to blow up anything that moves, Armored Core VI’s got a job for you.
While Armored Core VI: Fires of Rubicon is not a Soulslike game, it is still quite punishing in its own right, and it doesn't have any difficulty settings as befitting a FromSoftware game.
However, PC users have workarounds. The mod 'Ez-Core' created by Vawser and uploaded to Nexus Mods by Xylozi works as a sort of easy mode for those who are struggling with the vanilla game.
Here are the change highlights:
- Reduces the Energy Load of equipment by 50%.
- Reduces the Weight of equipment by 50%.
- Increases total rounds for all weapons by 300% of vanilla value.
- Increases currency reward from missions to 200% of vanilla value.
- Increases currency reward from arena missions to 200% of vanilla value.
- Increases the ideal and effective range of weapons to 300% of vanilla value. This reduces the amount of ricocheting. Will affect enemy ACs.
It is important to note that connecting to the online mode would most likely result in a ban, as per FromSoftware policy. As such, you should refrain from using Steam to launch the game; click directly on the ArmoredCore6.exe instead.
Installing the Ez-Core mod is as simple as copying the included regulation.bin file to the ARMORED CORE VI FIRES OF RUBICON\Game folder. Enjoy!
