A new Star Ocean The Second Story R gameplay trailer was shared online today, providing a new look at the remake of the second entry in the series developed by tri-Ace.
The new trailer, which can be watched below, highlights some of the remake's new features, such as Flavor Text, dialogues with party members that happen while exploring the field, raid enemies, more powerful enemies that drop special weapons when defeated, new fishing mechanics, and more.
Additionally, combat seems to have received even more updated than previously revealed, as players will be able to chain multiple enemy symbols together to get bonus experience, perform a Just Counter maneuver that allows characters to avoid an enemy attack and rapidly move behind them to deal massive damage, the Bonus Gauge, which grants different positive effects, and more. Finally, the trailer confirmed the game will feature new voice recordings from the original Japanese cast, as well as The Second Evolution dub, and that a demo is now available for download.
Star Ocean The Second Story R launches in a little over a month, on November 2nd, on PC, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, and Nintendo Switch. A playable demo is now available on all formats.
