We might witness a landscape shift in upcoming years as NVIDIA sets its sights on transitioning towards the more "strategic" Indian market with its AI frenzy.
NVIDIA Looks For Alternative AI Bases as US-China Tensions See a Rise, India Currently In The Lead
Bloomberg reports that in a visit to India, NVIDIA's CEO Jensen Huang met the Indian delegation with colossal optimism, categorizing the nation as an "alternative" to its well-established Chinese consumer base. Huang emphasizes that Team Green sees great potential in India, especially with its talented youth and the enormous data Indian consumers hold. NVIDIA sees India as the "next Silicon Valley" and strives to capitalize on the nation's prospects on time.
You have the data, you have the talent. This is going to be one of the largest AI markets in the world.
Now the decisive question is, why is NVIDIA eying towards India? Well, the reason is obvious. The US-China war has dragged tech behemoths like NVIDIA into a "forced competition", where Team Green is on the backfoot due to the vigorous sanctions imposed. The rivalry hasn't ended yet, and companies are looking for alternatives since it is affecting their revenue and consumer base. Like every other tech giant, NVIDIA has also placed its "future bet" on India, following the footsteps of companies like Apple.

With India, NVIDIA has access to a talented workforce, easier trade policies, and huge government incentives, prompting it to rely entirely on the nation. To catalyze the process, in-house firms such as Reliance have also offered their own assistance since its parent company, Jio, is rapidly progressing on genAI developments. However, things in India for now are at a naive stage, and with no presence of facilities such as exascale supercomputers, the AI industry is yet to see its complete potential.
India can be labeled as the next global "tech hub" given that it bolsters the efforts made by companies. Apple, Intel, and now NVIDIA are all reported to have poured billions of dollars into the country, so India is often said to be going through a "paradigm shift".
