Sony has kicked off a PS5 upgrade program in the US, which allows those purchasing a new PS5 console to get a free digital PS5 game.
As said, the upgrader program is currently only available in the US for those who are at least 18 years old, and it is limited to 1 free game per user. Those wanting to make use of the program will need to purchase and activate their new PS5 console by October 20 at 23:59 p.m. (PDT). Various PS5 titles can be picked when making use of this deal. The current list is as follows, although Sony mentions that game selections can rotate during the program:
- Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales
- Marvel’s Spider-Man: Remastered
- God of War Ragnarök
- Horizon Forbidden West
- Ghost of Tsushima Director’s Cut
- Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart
- Demon’s Souls
- The Last of Us Part I
- Sackboy: A Big Adventure
- Returnal
- Uncharted: Legacy of Thieves Collection
- Death Stranding: Director’s Cut
An interesting deal of those in the US wanting to purchase a PS5 in the weeks to come. It's also an interesting offer to those who haven't played or own Spider-Man and Miles Morales just yet, and want to play either of these before the launch of Spider-Man 2 next month. It should be noted that, like the console itself, the selected game must be redeemed on the activated PS5 console by no later than October 20 at 23:59 p.m. (PDT). According to the program conditions, there won't be any substitutions or replacements, and the offer is non-transferable and cannot be combined with other select offers.
Here's how to activate the PS5 console and redeem your selected PS5 game:
- You’ll need to buy and activate your new PS5 console
- Once your PS5 console is activated, navigate to PlayStation Store on your PS5 console
- You may see a banner with this offer. Click on the offer to make it to the Games Page which features eligible games to choose from.
- Select one game to download for free
- Click Download
