ACEMAGIC, a fairly popular competitor in the mini-PC industry, has unveiled its first Intel Alder Laker N95 design known as the S1, coming with a futuristic design & an onboard screen as well.
ACEMAGIC S1 Mini PC Commits To Bringing "Premiumness" With Alder Lake-N CPUs Without Breaking Your Bank
Talking about the company itself, these are the same folks who were known as ACEMAGICIAN a while ago but seem to have rebranded themselves. They have offered various Mini PCs including AM08 PRO, which features AMD's Ryzen 9 6900HX. However, with the release of the ACEMAGIC S1, the Mini PC manufacturer plans on expanding its territories towards the "budget segment" without compromising on quality and overall aesthetics.
Diving into the specifications, the ACEMAGIC S1 comes with Intel's power-friendly Alder Lake N95 processor. This particular SKU is targeted towards low-powered devices, and it comes with a 4C/4T configuration. Rated at 15W TDP, the application of Alder Lake N95 is limited to ordinary use, and one shouldn't expect much performance out of it, especially in gaming scenarios. The adoption of Intel's N95 processor results in efficient performance, coupled with a budget-friendly package, thus making it a great option for a usual consumer.
Moving on to storage, the ACEMAGIC S1 Mini PC comes with different configurations, coming at 16GB/512GB & 16GB/1TB, priced at USD $239 & $269, respectively. ACEMAGIC hasn't compromised on storage expansion since the mini-PC features two M.2 ports, which have a magnetic detachable mechanism, which ensures easier storage swapping.
Now, the reason why ACEMAGIC S1 stands out is the company's commitment to ensure the best quality regardless of the fact that the onboard SoC is a low-tier one. ACEMAGIC S1 features an LCD display at the front, providing users with an interface to see crucial information such as temps and CPU utilization.
We have seen other manufacturers such as Xulu also incorporating LCD displays in their mini PCs but it looks like the ACEMAGIC S1 so far features the most advanced version, and this is certainly appreciable given that it provides consumers with a nice touch of aesthetics, with a decent price tag as well. The overall look of ACEMAGIC S1 transmits a "premium" vibe, which isn't seen in the industry often.
For ports, the ACEMAGIC S1 is equipped with plenty of them, featuring two USB 3.0 Type-A, two USB 2.0 Type-A, and two Gigabit Ethernet ports as well. Wireless connectivity includes WiFi and Bluetooth 5.2 support. Hence, it shows that the mini-PC is an ideal choice for consumers looking to step into the mini-PC industry without worrying about the "discussed" tradeoffs. ACEMAGIC hasn't specified a release date yet, but it does say that preorders start in October. The mini-PC is definitely something to review and is a great entry for the industry.
