Two Cyberpunk 2077 mods developed for the recently released 2.0 version of the game shared online last week bring both ray tracing performance and visual improvements.
The first mod, General and Full RT Performance Optimizations, introduces a variety of tweaks that can improve performance with full ray tracing enabled at the cost of some visual fidelity. While the mod doesn't aim to bring any visual improvement, it does improve the image quality of the game with AMD FSR enabled. As the main version of the mod increases CPU load by increasing thread amount for AI computing tasks to bring more stable performance, it is recommended to use only on a system with at least an i9-11900K CPU. Those with weaker CPUs should decrease the crown density level or remove the GO.ini file before playing the game.
The second new Cyberpunk 2077 mod is actually an update to the DLSSTweaks mod, which can be used to force DLAA into DLSS-compatible games. The new update allows changing the scales used for ray reconstruction, introduced in DLSS 3.5, allowing, for example, to force DLAA with ray reconstruction.
Cyberpunk 2077 is about to receive its first and only expansion, Phantom Liberty, tomorrow on PC and current generation consoles. The expansion is a worthy purchase as it adds more fantastic storytelling on top of the new features and gameplay changes introduced in version 2.0, as highlighted by Alessio in his review.
