Horizon Forbidden West Complete Edition has been listed for a release on PS5 next week by a Japanese retailer.
The Japanese listing was spotted by Gematsu some hours ago, and although no additional details have been provided, the listing only mentions a PS5 version. Going by the listing, this Complete Edition will retail for ¥7,981, which is around $53 USD. We've included a screenshot of the listing below (in case the page gets removed).
Earlier this month, the Singaporean Game Rating Board (IMDA, or Infocomm Media Development Authority) also listed this complete edition of Guerrilla's most recent Horizon entry, suggesting that a release is imminent. Although we don't know specific details, it's likely that this complete edition will include the base game as well as the Burning Shores expansion for PS5. Back in 2017, we had a similar release for the original Horizon Zero Dawn - the Horizon Zero Dawn Complete Edition which included the Frozen Wilds DLC.
Although this new listing only mentions a PS5 version, credible deals leaker 'billbil-kun' suggested that Sony and Guerrilla could very well launch a PC version as early as next month. If true, this could mean that we'll be getting a release of this Complete Edition on both PS5 and PC. If so, Forbidden West would be the first Sony first-party release to launch simultaneously or very near on console and PC.
Released in 2022 for PlayStation 5, Forbidden West is the sequel to 2017's Horizon Zero Dawn. Here's what we wrote about the sequel in our launch review last year:
"First things first, though, as there's a lot to unpack. Horizon Forbidden West is literally brimming with content. According to the PS5, I've finished the game after exactly 70 hours of playtime. Guerrilla's developers were a bit coy on the topic of longevity pre-release, suggesting that the game would be about as long as Zero Dawn, but that was really underselling it, given that data from HowLongToBeat reveals the first game (without the Frozen Wilds expansion) could be completed to 100% in just 60 hours. Meanwhile, in Horizon Forbidden West, I've still got over twenty tasks left to do between side quests, errands (briefer side missions), and other types of content."
