A new GTA 6 rating has surfaced which is similar to the older Grand Theft Auto installments, including GTA: Vice City and San Andreas.
The yet-to-be-announced next installment in the Grand Theft Auto series has received a rating from the Australian Classification Board. Interestingly, the classification date is from the 2nd of April of this year, but we haven't been able to find earlier cached pages, nor does the Wayback machine have older pages other than a snapshot of the listing from yesterday. What also might be interesting here is that the game has received an MA 15+ rating, which is the same rating that older GTA entries, including GTA IV, Vice City, and San Andreas received in Australia. The most recent installment in the series, Grand Theft Auto V, received an 18+ rating back in 2013 from the Australian Classification Board. An interesting tidbit here is that, back in 2013, GTA V was the first entry in the series to receive an 18+ rating after new Australian classification guidelines were introduced in 2013. As such, you would assume that a sequel to GTA V would also receive this 18+ rating.
As said, Grand Theft Auto 6 still has to be officially announced by Rockstar, but recent rumors suggest that this might happen later this year. Last month, Rockstar owner Take-Two Interactive might again have hinted at a release for the game no later than March 2025 via revised forecasts.
"Through our collective efforts, we continue to believe that we are positioning our business for a significant inflection point in fiscal 2025 that will culminate in us delivering new record levels of operating performance next year and beyond", Take-Two's Chief Financial Officer, Lainie Goldstein, said during an investor call. "We thank all of our stakeholders for their continued support, and we look forward to delivering on this exciting next chapter."
As covered some days ago, GTA 6's updated RAGE engine will allow for visuals that will be greatly ahead of those in Red Dead Redemption 2.
