Intel's Core i9-14900K CPU sees its debut in pre-built gaming PCs on Newegg, prior to the official launch which occurs in the upcoming week.
Intel Core i9-14900K CPU Equipped Gaming PCs Are Already Listed By Newegg Ahead of Launch, Top-Notch Components For Ultra-Enthusiasts
While the official retail date of Intel's 14th Gen Raptor Lake Refresh CPUs is still two days away, we have already seen various listings at online retailers. In previous coverage, we reported how an Indonesian consumer was able to get his hands on the flagship Core i9-14900K & several German users getting the chips too. However, the first Pre-built gaming PCs are now being listed over at Newegg by system builders.
The listing was made by "CLX Gaming" and "Skytech", both of which offer pre-builts within the US market. Both PCs are equipped with the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4090 GPUs, lots of memory, & some fast storage solutions with respective pricing of $6999 and $3899 US. The huge difference in pricing can be attributed to other components and the capacities of storage/memory but the Intel Core i9-14900K chip itself is going to cost around $600 US or about the same as the Core i9-13900K.
- CLX RA - 14900K + RTX 4090 + 2 TB NVMe + 128 GB DDR5 - $6999.00 US
- Skytech Prism: 14900K + RTX 4090 + 2 TB NVMe + 64 GB DDR5 - $3899.00 US
- Skytech Prism: 14900K + RTX 4070 Ti + 1 TB NVMe + 32 GB DDR5 - $2599.00 US
Let's look at what Intel's Core i9-14900K looks to offer. Based on all the data we have, the Intel Core i9-14900K CPU will feature 24 cores & 32 threads in an 8+16 configuration. The CPU will feature up to 36 MB of Smart Cache and a base TDP of 125W (253W PL2). It will feature clock speeds of 3.2 GHz at base & up to 6.0 GHz with a Thermal Velocity Boost.
This will be a +200 MHz frequency jump over the Core i9-13900K and the same as the Core i9-13900KS. Intel's official slides previously revealed that the CPU is expected to show a strong 23% performance difference over AMD's flagship Ryzen 9 7950X3D but the average gains are only around 3%. The 14th Gen Core CPUs are labeled as a mere "refresh" and will be the last family on the LGA 1700 socket before the company moves to a brand new platform in the coming year.
