Intel's latest Meteor Lake CPU, the Core Ultra 5 135H, has leaked out along with its benchmarks and shows what to expect from mainstream laptops.
Intel Core Ultra 5 135H Shows Mainstream Meteor Lake CPU Performance In Laptops, Faster Than AMD's Ryzen 5 7640HS
The Intel Core Ultra 135H is the newest Meteor Lake CPU that has been unearthed through the Geekbench 5 database. The chip features a 4+8+2 or 14-core configuration which includes 4 P-cores, 8 E-Cores, and 2 LP E-Cores. This amounts to a total of 18 threads while offering a total of 18 MB L3 cache. Although the specific manufacturer or laptop through which this leak comes is not mentioned, the system was configured with 16 GB of LPDDR5 memory. This is the second Core Ultra 5 series chip that has been revealed so far with the other one being the Core Ultra 5 125H.
In terms of clock speeds, the Intel Core Ultra 5 135H Meteor Lake CPU is configured at a base clock of 3.60 GHz and a boost clock of up to 4.4 GHz but looking at the Geekbench log, the chip is hardly touching the upper clock limits which means that the performance here is still preliminary and not final.
Performance-wise, this early sample of the Intel Core Ultra 5 135H CPU was able to score 1120 points in single-core and 9502 points in multi-core tests. The single-core score is much lower than the AMD Ryzen 5 7640HS and Intel Core i5-13500H CPUs but the multi-core score actually manages to sit ahead of the Ryzen 5 7640HS which scores mostly around 8500-9500 points while coming close to the Core i5-13500H. Once again, these are just preliminary figures from early samples and we expect to see better performance once actual products hit shelves.
As for the launch of the Intel Meteor Lake CPUs, it has already been stated that the 1st Gen Core Ultra chips will target mainstream platforms first when they launch on the 14th of December but mass shipments and higher-end SKUs are expected to be available by Spring of 2024. Expect more information in the coming months.
