Following the news that the game went gold, Quantum Error developer TeamKill Media has finally revealed the release date for the PlayStation 5 version. The first-person shooter/horror game will be out on Sony's latest console on November 5th. PC and Xbox users will have to wait, though the former can also expect 'awesome NVIDIA technology', according to the developer. It is likely a reference to ray tracing and/or DLSS 2/3.
Quantum Error was one of the first games announced for the PlayStation 5 in early 2020. Back then, the developers promised 4K@60 frames per second with ray tracing. It'll be interesting to see if they can meet those early targets. Over time, TeamKill Media praised the PS5 and its system architect Mark Cerny at length. In late 2020 they confirmed an Xbox Series X version would also be coming, but last month the development team made headlines when it criticized the slower SSD of Microsoft's console, blaming the Xbox Series X delay on that technical downside.
The official PlayStation Store page lists the following Quantum Error features (some of which, such as the DualSense's, are PS5 specific):

- Controller Microphone: Utilize the controller microphone to deliver breaths during CPR.
- SSD: Experience near-instant loading times for seamless gameplay.
- 3D Audio: Immerse yourself in the chilling sounds coming from every direction as you revel in the provocative soundtrack, which enhances the terror and excitement of Quantum Error.
In the Unreal Engine 5-powered cosmic horror FPS, players will be firefighter Capt. Jacob Thomas, who is sent to address a fire at the Monad Quantum Research Facility and subsequently gets embroiled in a journey among nightmares.
