AMD Readies Radeon RX 6750 GRE Graphics Card, Offers RTX 4060 Ti Performance Around $299

Published:

AMD is rumored to release a brand new RDNA 2 GPU known as the Radeon RX 6750 GRE to tackle the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4060 Ti graphics card.

AMD's Radeon RX 6750 GRE Rumored To Be Another RDNA 2 GPU But Tackles RTX 4060 Ti At $299 US

The information comes from Bilibili user & tech blogger, 小敌鸽 (via ITHome), who states that AMD could be preparing a brand-new graphics card that utilizes the older RDNA 2 architecture. This new Radeon RX 6750 GRE (Golden Rabbit Edition) graphics card is said to be the second GRE variant that releases this year with the other one being the Radeon RX 7900 GRE.

It is said that the AMD Radeon RX 6750 GRE GPUs will mainly be produced by just one AIB and that is going to be Yeston. Yeston is largely an Asian-Pacific brand with minimal presence in US and EU markets but as we have seen with the RX 7900 GRE, the card did see availability in the global retail segment, even if that was through OEM and System Integrators. So we might see a similar case on this card too.

This also won't be the first time that we see the Radeon RX 6700 GPUs being repurposed to tackle NVIDIA's RTX 4060 Ti. Sapphire also made a new variant of the 6750 XT a few months ago which is competing against the RTX 4060 Ti.

There are no specifications reported but the 6750 GRE is said to be an upgraded version of the RX 6750 XT. The Radeon RX 6750 XT & RX 6700 XT both share similar core configurations with the main differences being the clock speeds. Meanwhile, the RX 7900 GRE offered a spec downgrade from its XT & XTX siblings. So it's a really weird situation where the GRE can either be a spec upgrade & even a downgrade based on how AMD decides to market it. The RX 6750 XT features 12 GB VRAM with a total of 40 Compute Units in a 192-bit bus package.

As for performance, it is reported that the Radeon RX 6750 GRE is going to tackle the NVIDIA RTX 4060 Ti which is something that has yet to see any proper RDNA 3 competition from the red team. The graphics card is also reportedly going to be priced similar to the RTX 4060 which retails for an MSRP of $299 US. So that's $299 US for the performance of a $399 US graphics card which sounds decent enough but while the GRE might have an edge in rasterization & higher memory capacities, the NVIDIA GPUs still offer a better ray tracing package, much higher efficiency, & boast the newest features in games.

There's also no information on the launch date of the AMD Radeon RX 6750 GRE but it should be close. AMD also plans to introduce its brand new "Enthusiast-Grade" Radeon RX 7000 cards next week so stay tuned for that too.
