Tekken 8 will release in early 2024 on PC and consoles, making it one of the first major releases of the year.
During Gamescom Opening Night Live, it was confirmed that the eight main entry in the series by Bandai Namco will be released on January 26th, 2024. The release date was leaked on the Microsoft Store early today, but thankfully, it didn't take long to get an official confirmation. A new trailer was also released, revealing a brand new single-player mode called Arcade Quest that attempts to recreate the arcade feeling of classic fighting games.
Tekken 8 is setting out to be yet another excellent fighting game, starting the year off with a band for fans of the genre. Kai had the chance to try out the game a few weeks ago, highlighting how the many changes make for one of the developer's most aggressive fighting games to date.
With the new changes Bandai Namco is implementing to create their most ‘aggressive’ fighting game to date, Tekken 8 has plenty to excite me for what’s to come on the horizon. Implementing adaptive playstyles that can be swapped on the fly, players can experiment with what makes their chosen character unique while still learning the all-important fundamentals. Whether the overhaul to Rage and Heat systems will take some time to explore the full importance of the mechanics, the lines that separate Tekken x Street Fighter are starting to erode little by little.
Tekken 8 launches on PC, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X, and Xbox Series S on January 26th, 2024 worldwide.
