The Nintendo Switch 2 is looking to be a massive leap forward in terms of power over its predecessor, according to what a known insider revealed on Reddit.
I'm A Hero Too, who proved to be an extremely reliable leaker, clarified yesterday's leaks, saying that they did not come from them and so should be considered unreliable. At the same time, the leaker provided some new information on the next Nintendo console, saying that the devkits have been in the hands of developers for a while, the console is backward compatible, and it will come with new cartridges as well as a new camera feature.
Interestingly enough, the Nintendo Switch 2 may be powerful enough to run Final Fantasy VII Remake as well as the PlayStation 5 does and could be a launch title. The port apparently was developed in a very short time as well. While this may sound fake, it is a definite possibility that the next Nintendo console will support NVIDIA DLSS, so hardware on par with the PlayStation 4 would have no trouble running the game at 1080p with solid performance and then upscale it to higher resolutions using NVIDIA's upscaler.
Alongside the Nintendo Switch 2 information, the leaker also provided some new details on Final Fantasy VII Rebirth, which will end so as to set up a new protagonist for the third part of the remake project, providing a hint on where in the original story the game ends, and on the Final Fantasy IX remake, which was planned for Summer 2024 but may not meet the planned release window.
While I'm a Hero Too proved to be extremely reliable in the past, the fact that there have been impersonators around forces us to take all this with a huge grain of salt. As the Nintendo Switch 2 reveal shouldn't be too far off in the future, however, it will likely not take too long to know if it is indeed as powerful as hinted at by the leaker.
