If you are not too keen on upgrading to a high-end RTX 4080 or RTX 4090 gaming laptop, then chances are that you will be able to get an excellent deal for an RTX 3080 Ti machine. The trouble is that even these are pricey, but not the MSI Creator Z16P, because for under $1,600 on Amazon, this notebook is exceptionally affordable and caters to both creative professionals and gamers. The build quality of the Creator Z16P is exquisite, sporting an aluminum shell at the top and bottom, with the hinges tweaked well.
The laptop features a 16-inch QHD+ 165Hz IPS LCD panel that covers 100 percent of the DCI-P3 color space, making it excellent for those who do color-accurate work daily and require something portable. MSI’s Creator Z16P provides plenty in the performance department, thanks to its Core i7-12700H CPU, which touts six performance and eight efficiency cores. The RTX 3080 Ti GPU running in this notebook is not the same as the desktop counterpart and features 16GB of GDDR6 VRAM.
For a laptop that features a QHD+ resolution, the 16GB GDDR6 frame buffer will be advantageous when you want to crack those textures to the max. There have been so many instances where a GPU is more capable of running the latest games at the highest settings, but it runs out of VRAM too quickly because NVIDIA was stingy in adding more memory chips to its GPUs. In this scenario, the 16GB GDDR6 belonging to the RTX 3080 Ti will be extremely beneficial.
The best part about both the CPU and GPU is that a vapor chamber cools them, but if you live in a hot and humid environment, we will strongly recommend undervolting both components to get better temperatures. Other additions include 32GB of DDR5 RAM and 1TB of PCIe NVMe storage, and you will be happy to know that both can be upgraded. The 90WHr battery would have given you sufficient runtime, but the laptop has an Intel processor, so we recommend keeping the power brick with you.
Thankfully, the Creator Z16P also supports USB-PD through the USB-C port, so that is also a possibility. For under $1,600, an RTX 3080 Ti laptop is unheard of, and when we compared prices, those equally spec’d products cost upwards of $2,500. Since this is too good of a deal to miss, we strongly advise picking this machine because you never know when this deal expires.
