A slick-looking PlayStation 5 water cooling solution is now available for pre-order, giving players the chance to those with a little bit of know-how to keep their console properly cooled while enjoying all the latest, most demanding, games when it launches later this month.
The EK-QuantumX CoolingStation Monoblock for PS5, which can be pre-ordered from EK Water Blocks' official website for €449.90 (around $470), requires users to take apart their console, so installation is far from being accessible. Mounted via standard ATC stand-offs for motherboards, the monoblock, which requires additional components such as a pump, radiator, and tubes, cools every vital component of the PlayStation 5, from the SOC chip and the RAM to various controllers and the SSD, reducing noise considerably.
With a slick look complete with an addressable D-RGB LED strip, the EK-QuantumX CoolingStation Monoblock is indeed what the manufacturer says: not a piece of hardware, but a statement. The console, after all, doesn't really require water cooling, as any console that overheats is mostly due to external issues. In case you are still looking to make this statement, you can check out some images and the monoblock's technical details below.

As the EK-QuantumX CoolingStation Monoblock for PlayStation 5 is obviously only compatible with the current models, it will be interesting to see if the manufacturer will update its design for the upcoming revision. Unlike past Sony consoles, the new revision will not be a slim revision of the existing models, featuring only minimal changes and possibly compatibility with an external disc drive. A release date for this new PS5 model has yet to be announced.
