Deep Rock Galactic Rogue Core is Ghost Ship's attempt to double down on its highly successful cooperative game.
The dwarven space mining company has discovered a highly valuable mineral called Expenite on the planet Hoxxes IV. However, the dig sites suddenly go dark and all communications are disabled. The only course of action is to send a team of elite dwarven Reclaimers to find out what happened.
Just like in Deep Rock Galactic, the caves will be procedurally generated and fully destructible. In each stage of a mission, players will salvage equipment caches to expand their arsenal for that mission. They'll also be able to use the collected Expenite to obtain various temporary upgrades.
This spin-off game has a roguelite twist: you'll start each mission from the basics, such as picking up a Phase Suit equipped with an Active Ability of your choice, as well as one of a range of unique Reclaimer Weapons. You will eventually discover a way to research and permanently unlock new Reclaimer Weapons, Phase Suits, and Suit Mods.
Deep Rock Galactic Rogue Core is still far from release. Ghost Ship revealed that the Closed Alpha will begin at some point in the first quarter of 2024, with the Steam Early Access debut currently set for November 2024. The developer also revealed that it expects the game to stay in early access for a year and a half to two years, similar to the previous game.

Deep Rock Galactic Rogue Core isn't the only new franchise installment planned. A single player survivor-like auto-shooter game called Deep Rock Galactic: Survivor is being developed by Funday Games for a Q1 2024 Steam Early Access launch, though a demo is already downloadable as part of Steam Next Fest.
