Super Mario Wonder is out in the wild ahead of the game's global launch later this week, and the game is already playable on PC.
Some days ago, Switch miner 'OatMealDome' claimed that Nintendo's upcoming Mario adventure leaked online. The leaker didn't provide any links, but fast forward a couple of days, and we now have the first gameplay video of the title being played on PC. This new gameplay video shows Super Mario Wonder being played in 4K at 60FPS via the popular Ryujinx emulator. We won't be including the video below due to spoilers and other reasons, but those interested can watch it here. Aside from running via the Ryujinx emulator, the Yuzu emulator can also run the new 2D Mario title. Based on the gameplay footage that we've seen, the game runs amazingly smoothly on PC.
This isn't the first time that a new Nintendo game has become available on PC before even launching on the Switch - back in May of this year, The Legend of Zelda Tears of the Kingdom leaked online, and people were already playing it on PC before launching on the Switch. Also, titles such as Pokémon Legends Arceus, Monster Hunter Rise, Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl, and Mario Party Superstars were playable on PC on launch day.
Super Mario Wonder released later this week on October 20 for the Nintendo Switch. Here's what we wrote about this new Mario installment in our impressions article:
"Super Mario Bros. Wonder is bursting with life and creative exuberance from the get-go, with dazzlingly varied stages and Wonder Flower curveballs you won’t see coming. I still have plenty more to play and it remains to be seen whether Wonder can consistently deliver top-tier platforming fundamentals alongside all its creative ideas, but everything points to Mario being as surefooted as ever."
