Apple Not Giving iPad Wi-Fi Chip Orders To MediaTek, Says Analyst, But These Will Still Be Found In Low-Spec Devices Such As Apple TV

A report from Economic News Daily states that MediaTek won Wi-Fi 7 chip orders from a ‘leading American tablet brand,’ threatening Broadcom’s monopoly in the process. Given that Apple is the most dominant player in the tablet market at this time, the report is probably referring to the Silicon Valley giant, but an analyst does not believe that the Taiwanese fabless chip maker has received any orders from Apple. Regardless, MediaTek is still expected to supply those Wi-Fi chips, but not in the tablet category. MediaTek to start supplying Apple with Wi-Fi chips for peripherals and the Apple TV, starting […]

The Last of Us Multiplayer is Dead as Naughty Dog Doesn’t Want to Be a Live Service Studio

Naughty Dog’s hyped The Last of Us online multiplayer game, once said to be the most ambitious thing they’ve ever worked on, has been canceled. We’d heard for a while that the project was “on ice” following an unfavorable internal assessment by Bungie. That said, the game was never officially canceled. That’s now changed, with Naughty Dog providing a very clear reason for the change – they realized fully supporting a live service game would essentially mean becoming a live service studio, and they don’t want to do that. “We realize many of you have been anticipating news around the […]

Apple Is Reportedly ‘Evaluating The Possibility’ Of Making Foldable iPads After The OLED Models Launch In 2024; No Concrete Timeline Given

Apple is expected to switch from mini-LED technology to OLED for its iPad Pro family for the first time in 2024, with these panels eventually trickling down to the company’s premium MacBook range. Additionally, a new report states that the Cupertino firm is exploring the possibility of developing foldable iPad models, though it does not have a solid launch timeline. It is likely that the first tablets sporting this unique form factor will arrive a few years after the OLED iPad Pro’s inception. A foldable iPad makes more sense than bringing the technology to the iPhone because of additional failure […]

For the purposes of this guide, we’re going to be focusing on Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora’s combat, which, honestly, can be a bit idiosyncratic and frustrating at times. The game lacks some features, making it not quite feel like a full-fledged shooter or stealth game, but once you know your way around the game’s quirks, success shouldn’t be so […]

Dead Space Remake DLSS 3 Mod Released by LukeFZ

The Dead Space remake was quite successful when it came out in January 2023, achieving a Metascore of 89 on consoles. Our own Nathan Birch wasn't quite as enthused, rating Motive Studio's latest effort 8 out of 10 in his review: The new Dead Space is a mostly-successful revival of a survival horror landmark, offering atmospheric new visuals and a series of precision updates to combat, level layouts, and the game’s scary bits that ought to surprise and excite veteran engineers. That said, there was room for Motive Studio to push ever further, as some game elements still feel a […]

These days, fighting games live and die based on their online playerbase, and yet, Mortal Kombat 1 did not launch with crossplay support. Thankfully, that will change relatively soon though, as NetherRealm Studios announced in a recent livestream that crossplay between PC, Xbox Series X/S, and PS5 will be coming in early 2024 (perhaps unsurprisingly, the ill-fated Switch version is left out). "Crossplay is coming in February between PS5, Xbox, and PC. We're very excited about that. We are also adding a WiFi filter, which means, like previous games, you will now be able to decline matches based on connection […]
