To commemorate the occasion, there's also a meaty free new update that adds the Greek faction, a new map, and a few new weapons. The map is the second and final one in the Battle of Crete series, which took place between May 20th and 29th, 1941, when Greek and Australian Forces clashed against Fallschirmjäger from the German 7th Fliegerdivision. Myth of Empires Shows Off New Map and Features Coming with 1.0 Launch in February 2024

Today, Angela Games released a new trailer and plenty of details to show off the upcoming 1.0 launch of Myth of Empires. As you might recall from our previous coverage, following a solid early access debut in November 2021, the game was delisted from Steam in early December 2021 following a copyright claim issued by Snail Games subsidiary Studio Wildcard. While Myth of Empires remained playable through its own launcher, the absence from Steam seemed to have stifled its development for good. However, two months ago, a major twist revealed that the game would soon return to Valve's store. Not […]

Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora Offers Full RT on Consoles, XSX Sharper, PS5 Has Other Benefits

Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora is a pretty impressive visual package on PC, with its highest “Unobtanium” settings challenging even the beefiest of GPUs, but how does the game fare on consoles? Thankfully, the answer is “pretty darn well!” I can confirm this from my own play testing, but the folks at Digital Foundry has given the game a full analysis on Xbox Series X/S and PS5, and the results are fairly impressive. You can check out their full video below, provided you have around 20 minutes to spare, or you can scroll on down for our rundown of the salient […]

Can’t Get a Big Mac Burger in Argentina? Blame the Economist Magazine

Artificial price controls have never worked in the long run, and never will. They do, however, create substantial distortions that often manifest in unexpected ways. Consider the curious case of McDonald's Big Mac burger and its near-absolute scarcity in Argentina. South America's second-largest economy, Argentina, has unfortunately turned into an emblematic example of how not to run a country's overarching economic policy. Facing a crushing sovereign debt load of over $400 billion, with $110 billion owed to the IMF alone, the besieged country appears to be heading toward its tenth sovereign default since gaining independence from Spain in 1816. 3/5 […]

Apple’s M3 Max Is Faster Than An RTX 4090 In OpenAI’s Whisper Speech Transcribing Test, But Only When Using An Unoptimized Benchmark

The M3 Max is Apple’s most capable 3nm SoC designed for the Mac, with its multi-core performance higher than the M2 Ultra, and its 40-core GPU gives a laptop RTX 4080 a decent run for its money. Despite these improvements, there is still a disparity that exists between laptop GPUs and NVIDIA’s ‘top of the line’ RTX 4090, but in the latest speech transcribing test, the M3 Max outpaces the fastest consumer graphics processor in the world, under the right test conditions that is. With an optimized tool, the M3 Max and M2 Ultra are simply no match for the […]

A new Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora mod released today promises to bring performance improvements on a variety of system configurations while also making the game playable on a mechanical hard drive. The Disk Cache Enabler mod, which can be downloaded from Nexus Mods, promises to improve loading times and reduce pop-in issues with SSDs, especially if they are not particularly fast. Additionally, the mod makes the game playable on mechanical hard drives, although that is still not advisable, especially for a huge open-world game like the Massive Entertainment title. Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora has been receiving plenty of love from […]
