Whether you think the art you consume should be a distraction from the real world or a reflection of it is up to you and your capacity for curiosity. While such a divide doesn’t exist for fans of film, music, literature, or television, for some reason,...
Jeff Bezos' rocket company, Blue Origin, is silently progressing towards the first hot fire test of its New Glenn rocket. Powered by in-house engines, New Glenn is also designed to land on a ship like SpaceX's Falcon 9. It is also more powerful than SpaceX's workhorse and operational rocket, and footage from media in Florida shows that Blue Origin's barge came back to port at Cape Canaveral late last night after offshore testing. The return marks another step in the rocket's test campaign, with a major hot fire of its engines expected to occur soon. Blue Origin Picks Up The […]
Apple announced the new Mac mini last month with some major design changes, and the machine is now significantly smaller than the previous version but way more powerful. The M4 Pro chip in the device is quite capable, allowing the mini computer to handle AAA gaming titles from a few years ago, which is an amazing feat considering gaming on a Mac has been a lost cause over the years. Now, the new M4 Mac mini has experienced a teardown, which aims to show what changes the company has implemented on the inside and what modularity we can expect. Teardown […]
Despite some improvements, AMD FSR 3.1 still lags behind other upscalers in terms of image quality, such as NVIDIA DLSS 3.7 and Intel XeSS 1.3. Speaking during the latest episode of the DF Direct Weekly podcast, the tech experts at Digital Foundry took a quick look at the new version of AMD's upscaler, highlighting how the update made to upscaling does bring some light improvements in terms of image clarity, but it still looks noticeable worse than NVIDIA DLSS and Intel XeSS latest version, mostly due to these upscalers attempting to do anti-aliasing on moving pixels, which is quite noticeable […]
Just a few minutes ago, Nixxes (which was acquired by Sony to work on its PlayStation to PC ports) confirmed the addition of AMD FSR 3.1 to several games, including Marvel's Spider-Man Remastered, Marvel's Spider-Man: Miles Morales, Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart, Horizon Forbidden West Complete Edition, and Ghost of Tsushima: Director's Cut. Here's the message posted by Nixxes about the new feature: We have been working closely with AMD to incorporate FSR 3.1. This performance-enhancing technology can be used with recent graphics cards from AMD, Intel and NVIDIA. AMD FSR 3.1 includes frame generation and offers improved FSR upscaling […]
Ghost of Tsushima Director’s Cut is available on PC as of today, and it offers the full suite of upscaling options, including DLSS 3, FSR 3, and XeSS (check out the game’s performance with DLSS 3 here). Interestingly, Ghost of Tsushima also offers something other games don’t – the ability to combine DLSS upscaling with FSR 3 frame generation. Why would you want to do this? Well, DLSS 3 frame generation is locked behind RTX 40 Series cards, while the open-source FSR 3 has no such restrictions. So, Ghost of Tsushima’s setup allows somebody with, say, an RTX 3090 to […]
Horizon Forbidden West AMD FSR 3.1 support is coming, but porting studio Nixxes has said that it's "sort of" waiting on AMD. Earlier this month we already reported that Nixxes is working on adding support for AMD's upscaling tech. As now confirmed by the Dutch porting studio, the team wants to add support for the "latest and greatest" version of the tech (the recently announced 3.1 version), and the team is now waiting on the Red team. During this year's GDC event, AMD said that FSR 3.1 won't be available for developers until Q2 of 2024. Nixxes told PCGamer as […]

Lately, telecommunication service providers have been under hot waters from regulatory authorities and have been levied heavy fines due to consent not being taken from consumers when sharing sensitive information. Now AT&T, T-Mobile, and Verizon have all unanimously decided to pursue their case by contesting the claim made by the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) against it mishandling users' personal data. AT&T, T-Mobile, and Verizon are challenging substantial fines imposed by the FCC for sharing sensitive data of users with third-party services While AT&T and T-Mobile have had their share of troubles this year and have managed to stay in the […]
Apple launched the new M4 MacBook Pro models recently, and the new chips pack enormous power, a significant reason why you should consider upgrading. However, there are not many visual differences compared to the M3 version, but it is not a bad thing, per se, as the all-screen design is still great compared to today's standards. In a new video, YouTube channel Max Tech shared details on the battery of the M4 MacBook Pro, highlighting that it is 5 percent bigger in size, which the form factor and design have been kept the same. Apple's M4 MacBook Pro features a […]
