Apple is increasingly focusing on building its own devices and expanding its ecosystem by taking steps towards a more native experience for users and relying less on third-party accessories. While the Cupertino-based tech giant's HomePod and AppleTV have left quite the mark in the smart home category, it generally relies more on outsourcing cameras and other hardware for smart homes. Now, a new report suggests that the company intends to create a fully integrated experience by developing its own smart home accessories. Gurman hints about Apple working on making smart home products like security cameras for a more integrated experience […]

Survival and city-building mashup Frostpunk 2 is set to release in just a couple days on September 20, and fans couldn’t be more excited. That hype is due to just how good its predecessor, 2018’s Frostpunk, is. If you haven’t played the original game, ...
Frostpunk 2 offers an excellent and organic step up from the original, naturally spreading and evolving in every way, and offering yet another engaging survivalist city-builder in the frozen wasteland.
The final Frostpunk 2 developer diary before the game is officially released revealed one of the new features to come to the game: multiple colonies. This allows you to have more significant colonies in some predominantly self-efficient places and have their economies, logistics, and colonists. By having these, it will enable you to focus on growing the smaller colonies across the frostland. Eight entries have been made into the Frostpunk 2 developer diaries in a series called City Unbound. The final entry, released today, discusses how cities and colonies function in depth. This video is just under three minutes long […]

While in Warsaw with 11 bit studios, I got hands-on with The Alters and a Q&A session. I also had a Q&A session on Frostpunk 2 and hands-on with the new story mode. Having only recently had a hands-on with the utopia builder mode of Frostpunk 2, I was keen to see where the story here would jump off from the original. As I said in my earlier preview, you can look at the original as a launchpad for the sequel, as should be the case. As indicated in the Q&A, the one thing 11 bit studios didn't want was […]
Recently, I posted a preview and a Q&A with developers 11 bit studios about their upcoming title, The Alters. During the same trip, I also got hands-on with Frostpunk 2, specifically the start of the campaign mode, which is a direct follow-up to the original game. I also talked about my time with the earlier beta and Utopia mode of Frostpunk 2, my hands-on with the start of the story, and my time with the original, all with Co-Game Director and Design Director Jakub Stokalski. I also have a hands-on preview from my time on Frostpunk 2, so keep tuned […]
11 Bit Studios has become reliable since initially jumping onto the scene with Anomaly: Warzone Earth. The outstanding This War of Mine gave them that broader appeal, followed four years later by Frostpunk. The excellent reception of Frostpunk, critically and commercially, with over three million copies sold, meant a sequel was inevitable. This brings us to Frostpunk 2, which will be released later this year and is currently in an open beta. It felt compact in the original game, as excellent as a city-builder and decision-maker it was. That made sense; you were creating an ever-expanding circle around the generator, […]
11 bit Studios brought a release date reveal trailer for Frostpunk 2 at the Xbox Partner Showcase. The sequel to the popular city building survival game released in 2018 will be available starting on July 25 for PC (where the game will support AMD FSR 3) via all main stores, including Steam, Epic Games Store, and GOG. Additionally, it will be added to Microsoft's Game Pass subscription service from day one. Pre-orders are open now. Customers can choose between the base edition and a Digital Deluxe edition that provides access to a beta test coming in April, among other things: […]
Strategy and simulation games remain my go-to genres whenever I pick up the latest Atari console or turn on my rig to see the Windows XP startup. The reason is and always will be simple: I like to keep my brain ticking along, slightly delaying the decay that would lead to dementia. I am in my mid-thirties now; it's just a ticking time bomb; were this the middle ages, I would be the village elder. So, I will stave off this decay for another year with multiple roles of general, businessman, or village elder. So, with only a bit more […]
Vampire Survivors draws tons of inspiration from Castlevania, so it is no surprise that the new Ode To Castlevania DLC is fantastic. I’m here to guide you through unlocking each Hero and evolving each weapon, because that’s how you’ll end up accessing ...
I started playing Overwatch in 2019. By the time I was pushing payloads and getting Play of the Game with a well-placed Tactical Visor, a lot of the old hero kits and team compositions that were infamous when the hero shooter launched in 2016 were more...
