While the Cupertino-based tech giant's HomePod and AppleTV have left quite the mark in the smart home category, it generally relies more on outsourcing cameras and other hardware for smart homes. Now, a new report suggests that the company intends to create a fully integrated experience by developing its own smart home accessories. Gurman hints about Apple working on making smart home products like security cameras for a more integrated experience […]

Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 Q&A – ‘Half of the Voiced Lines Aren’t Related to the Story at All’

Earlier this year, Warhorse Studios finally satisfied the many fans of its debut title with the announcement of Kingdom Come Deliverance 2. The Czech developer had been quiet for a very long time but came out of the shadows promising a 2024 launch and a bigger, better game in every respect. The release had to be delayed a little beyond the original plan to February 11, 2025, but the rest of the promises remain intact, as testified by Chris's recent hands-on preview. At Gamescom 2024, I also got my hands on the game, although the session was much shorter than […]

Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 Dev: 60FPS on Consoles Is Not Out of Reach; Game Will Support Voxel-Based GI

At Gamescom 2024, I checked out the highly anticipated medieval RPG Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 and interviewed Martin Klima, Executive Producer at Warhorse Studios. The full interview will go live soon, but in the meantime, here's an excerpt related to the game's technology. I know that you've kept the CryENGINE. Did you consider any other engine early on? When we finished KCD, we looked at the technology we were using and considered our options. However, we decided that keeping CryENGINE made the most sense for us because we spent a lot of time customizing it for our needs. I think […]

Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 Has More Dialogue Than Baldur’s Gate 3 (Half of All Wheel of Time Books Combined)

Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 is going to be a massive game, much larger than the original. Czech developer Warhorse Studios said as much ever since it admitted the game not only existed but would launch soon, stating it is roughly twice as big as the first installment. Now, Game Director Daniel Vávra has shared actual figures on how long it is, at least when it comes to the written script. According to the developer, the final script of Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 is 2.2 million words long, which is more than the current Guinness World Record holder for the category, […]

Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 Preview – Greater and Grander

It feels insane that I wrote a hands-on preview of Kingdom Come: Deliverance seven years ago, following a trip to Hever Castle. It's not insane that I wrote the preview; I was interested in Kingdom Come: Deliverance for quite a while. What is insane is that it was seven years ago. Time flies. As you now know, Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 is getting a release on its seventh anniversary. In addition, we know other aspects, such as more accessible combat and an increased size and scale of the game. Having recently had a hands-on with the game in Kutna Hora, […]

Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 Hits a Small Delay

Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 is a game I'm very interested in. I was interested in the original way back in 2017 when I previewed it following a hands-on. I played the game and thoroughly enjoyed it, and considering it has sold six million copies, I would say more than a few other people enjoyed it, too. As we covered several months ago, Developers Warhorse Studios has been aiming for a 2024 release. Like the first game, the sequel has now hit a delay, though not to the same extent as the original, and it's almost fortuitous in its timing. Kingdom […]

Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 Dev Talks About Dynamic NPC Routines and Emergent Storytelling for Side Quests

Following the long-awaited announcement in April, Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 developer Warhorse Studios is working on finishing the game for the scheduled late 2024 launch window on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series S|X. In the meantime, Lead Scripter Martin Ziegler was interviewed by the Epic Games Store blog to discuss some of the game's features. One touted enhancement for Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 is dynamic NPC routines, which will be altered based on certain events, some player-driven and some not. If you follow them around, you can see that they behave quite like you would expect a real person […]

Kingdom Come Deliverance II Gets Gorgeous New ‘Saints & Sinners’ Trailer

Warhorse Studios brought a new Kingdom Come Deliverance II trailer to Summer Game Fest 2024. Titled 'Saints and Sinners', it provides another exciting look at the long-awaited first-person open world action roleplaying game. Unfortunately, it ended with a generic 2024 release window without any further details on the timing. Here's a recap of what you can expect in Kingdom Come Deliverance II: You are Henry of Skalitz – an ordinary man doing extraordinary things – caught in a gripping tale of revenge, betrayal and discovery as he embarks on an epic journey, 'from a humble blacksmith's forge to the court […]

Kingdom Come Deliverance 2’s Scope Was Impacted by Xbox Series S Limitations; Will Run at 4K@30 FPS on PS5/XSX

Kingdom Come Deliverance 2's scope was impacted by the Xbox Series S hardware limitations, as developers could only make a game that was 25% bigger than its predecessor. As reported on the Czech website Zing.cz, during the ongoing Game Access event in Brno, Czech Republic, producer Martin Klíma confirmed that the Xbox Series S technical limitations, namely the 10 GB of RAM, have impacted Kingdom Come Deliverance 2's scope. As the weakest current generation console has only 25% more RAM, Warhorse Studios decided to make the game only 25% bigger than its predecessor. This isn't the first time we have […]

Kingdom Come Deliverance II Already Runs Up to 80FPS with DLSS at 4K

Earlier this week, Kingdom Come Deliverance II Game Director and Warhorse Studios founder Daniel Vávra uploaded a lengthy video on his personal YouTube channel where he briefly discussed the game's current level of performance. Vávra said his new PC, powered by an AMD Ryzen 7950X3D CPU and RTX 4080 Super GPU, already ran the game at 4K and 60 frames per second at Very High settings while also confirming NVIDIA Deep Learning Super Sampling (DLSS) and AMD FidelityFX Super Resolution (FSR) support. However, it wasn't quite clear if he had activated any one of those upscalers when sharing the above […]

Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 Animations Look Incredible in New Gameplay Footage; DLSS, FSR Support Confirmed

Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 is going to feature some impressive animations, judging from some new gameplay footage that is making the rounds online. The new gameplay footage, which can be watched below, courtesy of @ASexyBiscuit, was shown on Czech television, providing a quick look at one of the game's cities, likely the royal city of Kuttenberg, where most of the game will take place, complete with some NPCs going around their business. Not only does the city look impressive, but the NPC's animations look incredible, highlighting even more how the next entry in the series will be a major step […]

Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 Dev Says Combat Will Be More Accessible, Explains Why The Game Still Uses CryEngine

Following the official reveal of Kingdom Come Deliverance 2, IGN was able to speak with Tobias Stolz-Zwilling (Warhorse Studios's PR Manager) to get some extra details about the newly announced action RPG sequel. To begin with, while the first-person combat system will still lean towards realism, the developers have made some changes to make it more accessible in Kingdom Come Deliverance 2. It is important to say that we stay true to what KCD and what Warhorse stands for, and that is trying to depict real medieval combat. That being said, we made some changes in the combat system and […]

Over six years after the first game's release, Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 is finally official. Czech developer Warhorse Studios has been cooking a sequel in great secret until it's almost ready. Publisher Plaion organized a press event last week that Wccftech joined to learn more about the long-awaited second entry in the historic action roleplaying game franchise. Warhorse founder and game director Dan Vávra appeared in the video to reveal that whereas the studio only had […]
