Grab 2024’s Most Ridiculous RPG While It’s On Sale

At the beginning of the year, Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth launched a hell of an opening salvo. The latest installment in the long-running Like a Dragon/Yakuza series is comically full of things to do. On one hand, it’s a turn-based RPG epic, splitti...

Jeff Grubb Says Next State of Play Likely To Announce A “Less Exciting” Remaster

It's seemingly confirmed that Horizon Zero Dawn is getting a remaster, despite the fact it really doesn't need one. Sony is focusing on making the games look a bit cleaner and visually striking instead of rebooting or porting franchises that people actually care about. Although it hasn't been officially confirmed that a Horizon Zero Dawn remaster is coming, it's quite likely since the rumor has been floating around since 2022. People now believe this is happening because the supposed remastered version has been rated by the ESRB, listening to PC and PlayStation 5 as the platforms. In the latest Game […]

The Final Joker 2 Trailer Is Here

Joker 2, technically titled Joker: Folie à Deux, is just a couple of weeks away, and the final trailer has arrived to try and seal the deal for potential audience goers who are still on the fence about whether a “jukebox” musical is how they want to se...

Apple’s A18 Pro Is 13 Percent Faster Than A17 Pro In GFXBench’s Aztec Ruins Benchmark; New Milestone Is Achieved At A Worse ‘Performance Per...

The A18 Pro powering the iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max had already cemented its position as Apple’s fastest smartphone silicon to date by being 18 percent faster than last year’s A17 Pro in Geekbench 6’s Metal benchmark while also trading blows with the M1 in the single-core and multi-core department. In the latest GFXBench Aztec Ruins test, the newest SoC once again reaches a new performance plateau, but a closer look at the comparison reveals that it had to operate at a higher power draw to achieve this difference, resulting in a worse ‘performance per watt’ ratio. In the […]

Wccftech’s Most Anticipated Multiplayer Games of 2024 – It’s All About Survival

The 2024 list of our most anticipated multiplayer games is hugely dominated by the survival genre, which is bleeding into all kinds of franchises and settings nowadays. It's worth noting that we focused on brand new titles here; for the upcoming expansions and DLCs to existing multiplayer games, head to this list. Previously in Wccftech's most anticipated games of 2024: Action, RPG, Horror, Fighting, Adventure, Platform, Indie, Expansion/DLC, Sports/Racing, Shooter Helldivers 2 (February 8 - PC, PlayStation 5) The first game on the multiplayer games list is also the closest to release. Arrowhead is once again partnering with Sony on […]

Wccftech’s Most Anticipated Shooter Games of 2024 – New Names in Town

2024 looks fairly similar to last year for shooter games fans in that there are very few big names on the list. We still don't know exactly what id Software and The Coalition are doing, while DICE's next Battlefield isn't launching any time soon. There will be a new Call of Duty game, of course, but it's hard to get too excited about it after Modern Warfare III. Previously in Wccftech's most anticipated games of 2024: Action, RPG, Horror, Fighting, Adventure, Platform, Indie, Expansion/DLC, Sports/Racing STALKER 2: Heart of Chornobyl (September 5 - PC, Xbox Series S|X) It's not the […]

Wccftech’s Most Anticipated Sports and Racing Games of 2024 – Starting a New Season

2023 wasn’t a banner year for sports or racing games, although it did serve up some solid efforts in the form of the new Forza Motorsport, MLB The Show 23, and more. Will 2024 be a better year? That remains to be seen. It’s always hard to predict what the annualized sports titles will deliver, but we do know the TopSpin franchise is returning, and I’d like to see what MLB The Show 24 pitches us after last year’s addition of the exciting new historical Storylines mode. Lace ‘em and/or gas ‘em up, it’s time for Wccftech’s Most Anticipated Sports […]

Wccftech’s Most Anticipated Indie Games of 2024 – Great Months Ahead

2023 was an excellent year for indie games, but 2024 is setting out to be an even better one thanks to the release of some hotly-anticipated titles from developers who become industry darlings with their previous titles and spiritual successors that will make this a year to remember. Here are our five most anticipated indie games launching in the next twelve months. Previously in Wccftech's most anticipated games of 2024: Action, RPG, Horror, Fighting, Adventure, Platform Eiyuden Chronicle: Hundred Heroes (April 23rd - PC/PS5/PS4/XB1/XSS|X) The Suikoden series is still considered, years after it was put on hold by Konami, to […]

Wccftech’s Most Anticipated Adventure Games of 2024 – Intrigue and Serenity

Following a solid albeit not outstanding 2023, adventure games fans can look forward to the release of several long-anticipated titles throughout 2024. As usual for this genre, the selected titles offer a unique mix of intrigue and serenity (sometimes seamlessly intertwined) that you are unlikely to find elsewhere. Previously in Wccftech's most anticipated games of 2024: Action, RPG, Horror, Fighting The Wolf Among Us 2 (2024 - PC, Consoles) A mainstay of our adventure games lists, The Wolf Among Us 2 should finally materialize in 2024. The game was, after all, announced to be back in development in late 2019. […]

Wccftech’s Most Anticipated Horror Games of 2024 – Following Up on a Frightfully Good Year

2023 was a landmark year for horror (check out Wccftech's Best Of here), delivering the super-ambitious Alan Wake 2, a pair of rock-solid remakes in Resident Evil 4 and Dead Space, excellent indies like Amnesia: The Bunker, and more. 2024 may not be quite as strong, but it largely keeps the ball rolling down a similar horrifying path, with a couple of new remakes (The Last of Us Part II Remastered and Silent Hill 2), new entries in fan-favorite series (Alone in the Dark), and some promising indies (Still Wakes the Deep). Those dark days when it looked like survival […]

Wccftech’s Most Anticipated Action Games of 2024 – Battles Go Big

After the packed year that was 2023, it feels like 2024 may be a bit more of a bridge year, although there’s still plenty for the action fan to look forward to over the next 12 months. A lot of this year’s action games are going big, with Rise of the Ronin and Star Wars Outlaws being full open world, and Senua’s Saga: Hellblade II at the very least being much larger than its predecessor (Ninja Theory hasn’t confirmed whether they’re going outright open-world yet). Certainly, everything on this list is pushing the technical bar hard, whether it be the […]

Nintendo has officially announced that it is suing PocketPair, the creators of Palworld, in collaboration with The Pokemon Company. In a statement on NintendoCoLtd on X, Nintendo filed a patent infringement lawsuit in the Tokyo District Court on September 18, 2024. This lawsuit aims to seek an injunction against infringement and damages after PocketPair allegedly infringed multiple patents in Palworld. This news isn't surprising, except that it didn't come sooner. Palworld was first released in January 2024. In the game, there are plenty of "Pals" that look incredibly similar to the creatures in Pokemon, to the point that it's bordering […]
