Apple is increasingly focusing on building its own devices and expanding its ecosystem by taking steps towards a more native experience for users and relying less on third-party accessories. While the Cupertino-based tech giant's HomePod and AppleTV have left quite the mark in the smart home category, it generally relies more on outsourcing cameras and other hardware for smart homes. Now, a new report suggests that the company intends to create a fully integrated experience by developing its own smart home accessories. Gurman hints about Apple working on making smart home products like security cameras for a more integrated experience […]

Over the past few months, we have seen the release of plenty of controllers from Chinese companies that attempt and succeed for the most part, at offering advanced features for very competitive prices. Some of these features, like back paddles or built-in LCD screens, however, may not be enough to justify the higher price for someone who is just looking for a functional controller that can be used on multiple platforms. For this reason alone, the EasySMX X05 controller is a controller worthy of more than a look for those gaming primarily on PC or Nintendo Switch who are looking […]

After getting a chance to test out the SANDMARC Telephoto zoom lens for capturing distant images recently, it’s now time to bring it up close and personal with its 100mm iPhone Macro Lens. I had a blast with the zoom lens and came away very impressed, ...
Back in August, Gigabyte unveiled its refreshed Z790 X series motherboards which offered a range of upgrades over the existing Z790 Non-X motherboards. The primary goal of these motherboards was to offer something new to users who were looking to build new PCs, especially those who were going to purchase the newly released Intel 14th Gen CPUs. On a technical level, the Gigabyte Z790 AORUS X motherboards have a lot going on with improved heatsinks, VRMs, I/O capabilities, and just the general look and feel has seen an update alongside the implementation of the latest WIFI 7 which is a […]
The DDR5 memory segment has been seeing a lot of action as it gets standardized across all PC platforms. With memory prices dropping and the latest platforms becoming affordable, memory makers are offering new solutions all the time with some focusing on high-end specifications. In contrast, others focus on strengthening their gaming product portfolios. With the arrival of DDR5 memory, KLEVV started to expand its memory lineup into mainstream and gaming categories. Serving the mainstream audiences are the standard SO-DIMM and U-DIMM RAM kits while the gaming side gets the more premium FIT V, BOLT V, CRAS V RGB, and […]

While PCIe Gen 5 NVMe SSDs are setting new storage performance benchmarks, the real-life and application benefits of getting those drives are still not worth the price you are paying for them. It's still very much an early adopter product for now and while we appreciate the speed-up, we would love to see the performance transition from synthetic benchmarks to actual use cases. And you know what's still considered to be quite fast without breaking your wallet? The current-gen PCIe Gen 4 NVMe SSDs. Gen 4 SSDs are now available at very affordable price rates and offer great performance. Furthermore, […]
You just never know what Nintendo is going to tap for nostalgia next. The Nintendo World Championships are a concept the company has revisited in a scattershot way over the years, but it’s the original 1990 iteration most folks remember, and really, it’s not even the event itself that’s most famous. That first competition was held using unique NES cartridges, which are now the ultimate collector’s item fetching upwards of $25,000 apiece. That’s the main reason the Nintendo World Championships are still remembered today. Despite that somewhat obscure legacy, the Nintendo World Championships are returning once again, this time as […]
Nearly five years after the launch of Ashen, Wellington-based game developer A44 is about to launch its second game, Flintlock: The Siege of Dawn. Whereas Ashen was published by indie label Annapurna Interactive and brought up from the ID@Xbox program as an Xbox/PC exclusive at first, Flintlock: The Siege of Dawn enjoys a raised profile and a full multiplatform launch from the get-go with publisher Kepler Interactive. A44 also doubled in size to make it, bolstering its headcount from 30 to 60 developers, which is admittedly still on the lower end for a developer looking to craft a game not […]

With rising development costs and general economic issues that have had a widespread impact on the video game industry, major publishers and developers are not as willing to experiment and launch new IPs as much as they were ten or twenty years ago. Sustained by the massive success of the latest entries in cornerstone franchises like Resident Evil, Monster Hunter, and Street Fighter, CAPCOM seems to be the only major publisher that still takes risks. Following the release of the relatively solid Exoprimal (albeit shortlived) last year, the Japanese publisher is launching another experimental title called Kunitsu-Gami: Path of the […]
