After finishing a frustrating boss fight in Funko Fusion against a never-ending stream of baddies in a grocery store, I was finally done with Hot Fuzz’s fourth level. I could move on. A cutscene played but the audio was missing. That happens a lot in t...

At the beginning of the year, Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth launched a hell of an opening salvo. The latest installment in the long-running Like a Dragon/Yakuza series is comically full of things to do. On one hand, it’s a turn-based RPG epic, splitti...
It's seemingly confirmed that Horizon Zero Dawn is getting a remaster, despite the fact it really doesn't need one. Sony is focusing on making the games look a bit cleaner and visually striking instead of rebooting or porting franchises that people actually care about. Although it hasn't been officially confirmed that a Horizon Zero Dawn remaster is coming, it's quite likely since the rumor has been floating around since 2022. People now believe this is happening because the supposed remastered version has been rated by the ESRB, listening to PC and PlayStation 5 as the platforms. In the latest Game […]
Gamescom is the biggest video game convention in the world and getting your video game trailer in the Gamescom Opening Night Live showcase is expensive, so a bunch of indie games are sharing beautiful GIFs or short videos of their games online for free...
Well folks, Gamescom Opening Night Live has now come and gone. We had some predictions about how the night could’ve gone including an appeal to finally get a single crumb of a Sonic The Hedgehog 3 trailer for the upcoming movie and a Hideo Kojima sight...
With a release date finally announced during today’s Nintendo Direct, Square-Enix has finally lifted the veil and shown off Dragon Quest III HD-2D for the first time in years in hopes of bringing the Erdrick trilogy to a new generation. While Square-Enix didn’t explicitly come out and say that they had plans for a trilogy during the hands-on preview, they noted that they wanted to start with Dragon Quest III chronologically as it was the first to come in the series. Nintendo spilled the beans during today's Nintendo Direct announcing the first two Dragon Quest titles also getting the HD-2D […]
Summer Game Fest took up a lot of the oxygen in the room last week, and from there, we got new details on Star Wars Outlaws, Dragon Age: The Veilguard, and more. But there was no shortage of stories from beyond the showcases and show floor, too. An Epi...
Of all the genres that NetEase has had a hand in publishing, a competitive fast-paced FPS hasn’t yet been one of them. The newly announced FragPunk from Bad Guitar Studio, a subsidiary of NetEase’s ThunderFire Studio, aims to bring the competitive 5v5 gunplay to the masses with a unique twist: Shard Cards. We got to experience the chaotic clash firsthand with a few rounds accompanied by two of the lead developers on the project. Recently unveiled during the Xbox Games Showcase, FragPunk is a fusion between two of the most popular competitive FPS on the market: Overwatch and Counter-Strike. From […]
We recently went hands-on with the first half-hour of gameplay in STALKER 2: Heart of Chornobyl running on PC. After a brief story-heavy introductory cutscene, we were sent off running through dark corridors at our own pace with danger not far behind. As one that has had more than a short break from the S.T.A.L.K.E.R. series (Shadow of Chernobyl and the L.U.R.K. mod were honestly my last real in-depth experience with the series nearly a decade and a half ago, although I did dabble in a bit of Clear Sky back at release), so much of the world and inventory […]
We’ve known since the launch of Alan Wake 2 that Remedy was preparing two pieces of story DLC for the game, but now we’ve finally laid eyes on the first expansion. Alan Wake 2: Night Springs focuses on the in-universe late night TV show Night Springs, essentially the Alan Wake version of The Twilight Zone, The Outer Limits, and other similar shows. The first trailer for Alan Wake 2: Night Springs, revealed during the Summer Game Fest kickoff show, leaves no doubt that we’re diving even deeper down the series’ weird multimedia rabbit hole. The DLC will include three “episodes,” each […]
Note: This is a developing story. More info about Civilization VII will be added soon. While a number of other games have attempted to fill the gap in recent years, 4X strategy fans are remain hungry for another serving of Civilization. While Civilization VI has been a major success, the game is nearly eight years old at this point – while Firaxis has always made players wait for new entries in their legendary series, it’s never been this bad before. Well, it’s time to rewrite history all over again, because at the Summer Game Fest kickoff show, Civilization VII was […]
Note: This is a developing story. More info about Lego Horizon Adventures will be added soon. There have been a lot of Lego crossover games released over the years, but typically they focus on IP that originated outside of gaming (Star Wars, Batman, The Avengers, ect.) Well, over the past few weeks we’ve been hearing rumors that we’d be getting a Lego game based on a certain PlayStation IP, and today during the Summer Game Fest kickoff show, Lego Horizon Adventures was officially announced. As we see in the first the game’s first trailer, Lego Horizon Adventures looks a bit […]
Geoff Keighley has cautioned fans that this year’s Summer Game Fest kickoff show won’t have as many “shocking announcements” as in the past, although it seems like this may be a case of ol’ Geoff cannily managing expectations so he can exceed them. We already know a lot of exciting horror-related reveals are slated for Summer Game Fest, and according to a new rumor, the next entry in the Borderlands series may also be making its big debut this Friday. This rumor comes courtesy of relatively new leaker Kurakasis, who has delivered some accurate information recently, with the backing of […]
The big Summer Game Fest kickoff show is only a couple days away, and, as you would expect, the teases for what we can expect at the show have begun. It seems like Summer Game Fest will be particularly good for horror fans, as a majority of the things teased for the show thus far have been horror related. First up, Remedy has posted this teaser, which seems to be a reference to the upcoming “Night Springs” story DLC for Alan Wake 2. Dark Triangle Coffee. Just coffee, nothing else. Have a sip at Night Springs' One and Only Coffee […]
We've finally arrived at the Summer Game Fest 2024 week, and host Geoff Keighley has provided some advance info for fans in a Twitch Q&A. To begin with, Keighley tried to temper expectations, saying there won't be many shocking announcements this year: One of the things you'll see with the Summer Game Fest show this week is that we've really tried to program some unexpected things with smaller teams and independent studios alongside the sort of big blockbuster games and franchises that you will see in the show as well, but I think what's cool about our industry right now […]
Nintendo has officially announced that it is suing PocketPair, the creators of Palworld, in collaboration with The Pokemon Company. In a statement on NintendoCoLtd on X, Nintendo filed a patent infringement lawsuit in the Tokyo District Court on September 18, 2024. This lawsuit aims to seek an injunction against infringement and damages after PocketPair allegedly infringed multiple patents in Palworld. This news isn't surprising, except that it didn't come sooner. Palworld was first released in January 2024. In the game, there are plenty of "Pals" that look incredibly similar to the creatures in Pokemon, to the point that it's bordering […]
The Serpent Crest Shield is a Medium Shield added in Elden Ring’s Shadow of the Erdtree expansion. It’s an excellent choice for those seeking full physical blocking abilities without being weighed down by one of the game’s massive Greatshields. We high...
