Nintendo's war against emulators seems far from over, as the Discord servers of two Yuzu Nintendo Switch emulator forks were recently removed following a court-ordered injunction. As reported by The Verge, the Discord servers of the Suyu and Sudachi emulators were recently removed, and the developers' accounts were disabled after being notified by Discord how they were allegedly sharing content violating intellectual property. Discord director of product communications Kellyn Slone also confirmed to The Verge the servers were removed and the accounts disabled due to a court ordered injunction. "Discord responds to and complies with all legal and valid Digital […]
Following Nintendo's decision to sue Yuzu, the popular Switch emulator, and the consequent shutdown of the project (with a massive $2.4 million to be paid in damages), two main forks have appeared: Suyu and Nuzu. While the latter turned out to be vaporware, Suyu is a real project with many dedicated developers behind it. Just two days ago, the Suyu team published the first public build, introducing several fixes and changes as well as initial work to support the emulator on macOS. Full rebrand ICNS Icon generation Error handling Qlaunch initial integration(buggy/requires further testing; requires V17.0.0 firmware or newer Gitlab […]
The first build of the Suyu Nintendo Switch emulator is now available for download, packing multiple improvements over the latest build of the now-defunct Yuzu emulator. The build, which can be downloaded here, packs plenty of improvements, such as Qlaunch initial integration, which allows users to use the main Switch system menu on the emulator, improved add-ons manager, crash fixes, new UI options and improvements, re-implemented multiplayer API and QOL changes. Additionally, the first Suyu build removes all telemetry, which provided user data to the Yuzu developers and was used by Nintendo to prove how the emulator was mostly used […]
The Suyu Nintendo Switch Emulator is about to reach an important milestone, as its build is launching online very soon. It has been announced today on the emulator's official Discord server that the Suyu emulator's first binary release is set to launch tomorrow, March 20th. The team will provide binaries for Linux x86_64, Windows x86_64, Android ARMv8a, and even an experimental macOS build. With the project being in the works for only two weeks, it is unlikely this release will feature any major improvement over the now-defunct Yuzu emulator, but still, it's great to see how the project seems to […]
