According to information acquired by folks over at SamMobile, the cover display on the Galaxy Z Flip 5 is getting some love from Google as the search engine giant has decided that it is going to optimize the apps for Samsung's upcoming flipper, and honestly, it is actually good news because this would encourage other developers to fall in line, as well.
Currently, the apps that have received optimization to work on the cover display of the Galaxy Z Flip 5 include YouTube, Google Maps, and Google Messages. Now, if you are wondering why these apps, honestly, they make sense. Google Maps would be perfect for navigating, and the screen is just the right size. It is also the right size if you want to watch videos or text someone. So, in simpler words, you can do almost all the things that you would do on these apps on just the cover screen, and that too, without having to open the phone.
Honestly, even though I am not upgrading to the Galaxy Z Flip 5, I am really happy that the cover screen on the phone is not just for show. Samsung is actually making some improvements to the functionality, and Google is also showing commitment to providing these benefits. I am sure there are going to be other native apps from Samsung, as well as other 3rd party apps from various developers, that will be optimized once the phone nears its launch.
