At I/O 2023, Google showed off the Help Me Write feature for Gmail that would help you write emails with the help of AI. The feature looked pretty promising, and the feature is finally rolling out to the app on both iOS and Android. However, it is currently rolling out to select users, and a wider rollout is expected later this year.

The Help Me Write feature works the same way it does on Gmail for desktops; it is simple, convenient, and works really well for those who want to send proper emails without running into the risk of sounding unnatural. At the time of writing, you get options such as Formalize, Elaborate, Shorten, I'm Feeling Lucky, and Write a Draft. This means that you can actually use the feature for various use cases, especially if you are having a hard time writing the email in teh way that you would want to.
Now, it is worth noting that the feature is only rolling out to Gmail users enrolled in the Workspace Labs program on Android and iOS. The feature is also not available in other supported Google apps like Docs, so you will most likely have to wait for the feature to finally arrive once it starts rolling out to a broader audience.
If you are enrolled in the Workspace Labs program, I would highly suggest that you look forward to using this feature on Gmail. After all, I believe this is one of the best features that you can get access to, especially if you are someone who has to deal with a lot of emails on a regular basis. Honestly, I am glad that Gmail is slowly getting all the features that would make it better and more functional. Writing emails can be a strenuous task for people who do it on a regular basis, and with the Help Me Write feature, you can make things easier for yourself, thanks to the fact that you now have the power of Ai at your hand. The feature is a lot easier to use, and I cannot wait for it to roll out to a much wider audience.
