It has been over a year since YouTube Music gained support for podcasts. However, at launch, the feature was only available in the U.S. That changes today because the app is now getting an update, and the feature is now rolling out to all users globally.
With YouTube Music podcasts rolling out globally, listeners can enjoy countless offerings and stay up to date with their favorite creators
Now, when you launch the YouTube Music app, you will see Podcasts and other mood filters. Tapping on the tap will show you a dedicated feed where you will get carousels like Kep listening, Recommended episodes, and Your shows. In addition, you will also get access to several categories to choose from, so you will never really be bored when you are going for a drive or a run, and you want to listen to your favorite podcast.
YouTube Music will also give you Auto playlists, which are basically for all the new episodes from your shows that you have saved previously in the Episodes for Later. If you have subscribed to podcasts, they will show up in the library just like content in general do. So, you should keep this in mind.
As it was before, the Now Playing screen will offer you 10-second rewind and 30 seconds forward, and you will also get access to increase or decrease the speed and even get more details on the podcast you are listening to.
I have never been big on podcasts, but I am glad that YouTube Music is finally supporting all the other regions. Podcasts have become increasingly popular over the past couple of years, and a lot of people are actively engaging with them. With the rollout now going global, more and more people will have access to it, and more importantly, creators who were previously not able to reach their audiences in regions other than the U.S. will actually have a chance to expand their listeners as well. So, simply put, this was a much-needed update that YouTube has finally started rolling out to YouTube Music.
