Earlier this week, we got greeted by a false alarm that Samsung has finally started seeding the One UI 6.0 beta based on Android 14 for the Galaxy S23 devices, and while at that time, outlets reported that the update is now live in multiple regions, it was not the case as Samsung took down the post altogether.
Samsung is finally showing us the Android 14-based One UI 6.0, and it looks stunning so far
Well, it seems like Samsung has had a change of heart as it has announced the Android 14-based One UI 6.0 beta program for the Galaxy S23 series. And, aside from the announcement, the company has briefly touched on what's new. Of course, you can expect a full detailed post later down the road, but for now, Samsung is focusing on updated notifications and the Quick Settings panel.
As you can see, the reworked Quick Panel is now split into panels, and you can see large buttons for both Bluetooth and Wi-Fi separate from the main grid. Right under that, you see the customizable grid and screen brightness control. You also get new buttons for device control that will help you choose between SmartThings, Google Home, and screen mirroring options to ensure that everything you need is at your fingertips.
In addition to that, Samsung has also highlighted some new features coming to Android 14-based One UI 6.0. The company has not shared the full list, but here are some new changes that you can look forward to:
- New default font
- New emoji in Samsung Keyboard
- Quick Settings is now accessible with one swipe from the top right corner of the screen
- Set different lock screens based on Modes and Routines
- Custom camera widget with presets for camera mode, saving location, etc
For those wondering, the Android 14-based One UI 6.0 launches in the United States, South Korea, and Germany starting today. Samsung will be expanding the new beta in the coming weeks, and for the time being, only the Galaxy S23 series is legible for the beta program. You can head over to Samsung Members app and register for the program, and you will be notified once it is available in your region.
Once the beta program expands, we will be sure to have a tutorial for you so you can go ahead and install the new update on your Galaxy S23. We will keep you updated as we hear more about the new update and everything new. Until then, stay tuned for more updates.
