It is 2023, and one would imagine that screen mirroring and casting content on mobile devices is easy, but that is not the case. You have several protocols to choose from, and there are then services that lock you out of using other services as well. You get Google Cast or Chromecast, you have Miracast, you have Apple AirPlay, and you have a lot of users wondering which one should they choose to use. However, Samsung wants an easier solution as the One Ui 6.0 actually adds a feature for Galaxy smartphones that will officially allow the devices to support Chromecast without going through any additional steps.

The change was spotted by SamMobile, as they have found that Samsung has now made it super easy for everyone to cast content on their Galaxy phones with the One UI 6.0. All you have to do is go to Settings > Connected Devices > Smart View. Once you are there, tap the three-dot icon and open Settings > Labs. Once you are there, you will find a new setting called Chromecast support, and all you have to do is toggle it on, and you are good to go.
The best thing is that the new Chromecast feature in One UI 6.0 does not require you to jump through hoops as well. You simply toggle it on, and once it is turned on, you can see all the Chromecast-compatible audio and video devices in the local network. You can then mirror your screen onto the devices or cast media using the Smart View feature.
Now, the reason why this is a big deal is that Samsung previously chose Miracast as the default protocol for casting screens on Galaxy phones. This meant that Chromecast devices were out of the picture. This changed with One UI 5.1, but even then, the settings were hidden behind a lot of hassle, and most people had no idea at all. With the latest update, that changes as the option has become default and super-easy to access without the need to jump through any hoops.
It is worth noting that the feature is still experimental, considering how it is in the Labs menu, but there is a high chance it will move to a stable channel once One UI 6.0 exits the beta stage, which you can expect by the end of this year, at least for most of the Samsung devices.
