WhatsApp, as a messaging app, has come a long way with rich features that make the overall user experience even better. Sure, it doesn't receive updates at the same frequency as some of the competitive apps, but that really isn't a bad thing because the features that you get are really good.
Earlier this year, WhatsApp finally gained an option to send pictures in a higher quality. This was a much-needed feature because before this went live, people used to send pictures as documents to avoid the heavy compression. Now, the messaging app is getting the feature to send HD videos, so if you do have some cat videos to share with your friends, you can now send them in HD.

Users will now be able to send videos in HD, which means that your videos will now have 1,280 x 720 resolution instead of the 480p that was the default. While it is still not FHD or QHD, it is still plenty for videos and should not take a lot of storage, either. The feature is simple to use -- when you send a video to someone, you will see an HD badge on the top of the screen. Just tap that, and you are good to go. Alternatively, if you don't want to send the video in better quality, just ignore that altogether.
Another feature coming to WhatsApp is going to be the ability to format your text in more ways than just bold and italic. The feature will let you add bullets, code blocks, and quote blocks for a more comprehensive experience. This feature is currently in beta stages and is not available to everyone, but we will keep you posted as we hear more about the feature.
I am really glad WhatsApp is slowly getting more and more features that will make the user experience better. As opposed to features that are released and are not used by anyone, these features do have a user base, and a lot of people have been asking for these features, as well.
