The OPPO Find N3 Flip is finally here, a new clamshell foldable phone from OPPO that brings a number of improvements over its predecessor in terms of some borrowed features from OnePlus, along with other improvements on the spec sheet. If you have been looking for a proper Galaxy Z Flip 5 competitor, then this is the one that you are looking at.
The OPPO Find N3 Flip does not reinvent the wheel but brings some needed improvements
Now, right from the start, the OPPO Find N3 Flip shares some DNA with OnePlus, which shouldn't come as a surprise since it has become difficult to differentiate between the two companies. The phone has an obvious Hasselblad branding on the back, and the N3 Flip is the first OPPO phone that brings Alert Slider, a feature that we have seen on OnePlus phones for the longest time. Honestly, at this point, you can even call it a OnePlus device, but hey, there are some differences.
Looking at the specs, there are some things that have changed and some things that have not changed. For starters, the OPPO Find N3 Flip still has the same 3.26-inch vertical cover display. You can go ahead and use mini-apps on this screen, including almost all the popular social media, streaming, and navigation apps. OPPO has confirmed that in the future, you can expect more apps to come to the cover screen, and you will find several ways to customize the cover display as well. It is not quite like what the Galaxy Z Flip 5 has to offer, though.
On the inside, you get a 6.8-inch AMOLED screen with an LTPO panel capable of going from 1 to 120Hz. The crease is almost invisible, and this is made possible thanks to OPPO's zero-gap hinge design; the OPPO Find N3 Flip has been tested for 400,000 folds, and the phone also brings IPX4 water rating, not the industry standard some would hope for, but still promising.
The OPPO Find N3 Flip is powered by a MediaTek Dimensity 9200 processor, a 4,300 mAh battery, and a modest 44W wired charging. To my surprise, OPPO is also offering a charger inside the box, but you should not expect any wireless charging since that is a feature that is still missing from this device. You are also looking at a fingerprint scanner housed within the power button and the alert slider resting on the other side.
Moving to the optics, the OPPO Find N3 Flip brings a 50-megapixel IMX890 sensor a 48-megapixel ultra-wide sensor, which is complemented by a 32-megapixel telephoto sensor. The entire camera island and the sensors OPPO is using are directly picked up from the OnePlus 11.
As far as the pricing and availability are concerned, the OPPO Find N3 Flip is currently exclusive to China and will start at CNY 6,799 or approximately $932. This is for the base 12/256GB version. If you want more storage, then you are going to have to pay CNY 7,599 or approximately $1,042 for the 12/512GB variant. OPPO has promised that the phone will launch in global markets, and we will keep you posted when that happens.
