Earlier this month, Carl Pei announced CMF, a sub-brand for Nothing that is going to focus on bringing more affordable devices but keeping the same DNA that makes Nothing different than the rest of the devices in the market. Pei announced that we are going to be seeing a pair of true-wireless earbuds along with a smartwatch later this year, and now, some information about CMF Watch Pro has surfaced, showing what the company has been up to.
The CMF Watch Pro will not run Nothing OS and cost a lot less than other smartwatches in the market
Some leaked banners surfaced that show what CMF is working on, and it appears that there are three products that are going to be released sometime. For starters, we have a 65W GaN 3-port USB Type-C charger, you also have a pair of noise-canceling earbuds called the Buds Pro and a smartwatch that is called Watch Pro. All three products share the distinct CMF by Nothing color, which isn't really a surprise, to be honest.
Looking at the CMF Watch Pro, you are looking at a square display with rounded corners along with an orange strap. The strap seems to be integrated, but we are not sure if that is just a visual choice or if the strap will actually be integrated. The watch features a 1.96-inch AMOLED display with always-on support, offers a peak brightness of 600 nits, and, for some odd reason, a 50Hz refresh rate. You are also getting 100 watch faces and tracking for over 100 workouts. The watch comes with heart rate and blood oxygen trackers for sleep and stress tracking, and it can even handle calls over Bluetooth with AI noise reduction. Additionally, the battery can last you up to 13 days, provided you turn off the AOD.
Another thing that has been revealed about the CMF Watch Pro is that it will not be running Wear OS. This should not come as a surprise since the smartwatch is speculated to cost under $70, so you can imagine why the company would want to go a different route. I am really interested in seeing what OS we get for the smartwatch. The rumors have pointed out that we are looking at a September release date for all three of the products, and considering how we are almost there, it should not take time before we get to learn more about these products that CMF by Nothing has been working on.
