There is no denying that Samsung has been making strides in the smartphone industry with its foldable series of phones, and while these foldable phones are not everyone's cup of tea, Samsung has no plans to stop production for the foreseeable future. If that isn't enough, then the company has just revealed that the foldable phones have managed to outsell perhaps one of the company's most famous series - the Galaxy Note series.
Samsung is really pleased with how the foldable phones are performing in the market
The Galaxy Note died a tragic death after the Galaxy Note 20 debuted in 2020, and while at that time, Samsung did not outright say that the phones were no longer going to show up, the writing was more or less on the wall. The company started focusing on its foldable phones along with the Galaxy S series, and with the Galaxy S22 Ultra, we got the first phone that completely replaced the Galaxy Note series and the Galaxy Z Fold series also started getting S Pens, making sure that we are not going to see the Note series anymore.
Although it was a sad departure for a lot of people, it appears that Samsung has benefitted it a lot because the company has now announced that the foldable phones have managed to surpass the total sales of the Galaxy Note series in Europe. The company shared the stats just for Europe and did not even indulge in more information, but considering how hit the series was in Europe, you can expect a massive number. This also shows that user adoption is finally taking place in Europe and hopefully in other countries, too.
Benjamin Braun, Chief Marketing Officer of Samsung Europe, took the stage at IFA 2023 in Berlin and said the following,
“Our latest foldable phones are selling super-fast. In fact, the annual sales of our foldable devices have exceeded the Note series in Europe.”
Honestly, I am not surprised that Samsung has managed to sell a lot of foldable phones in Europe. If anything, I am hoping that the same goes for other regions as well because, let's be honest, foldable phones are the future, and while I do understand that some users have their reservations about the durability, the company is making year-on-year improvements to the devices, and how durable they are, so one has no reason to sleep over them. So, whether you are thinking about picking up the Galaxy Z Fold 5 or the Galaxy Z Flip 5, you should know that you are in safe hands.
