Apple will launch its flagship iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Pro models on September 12. The devices will come with many forward-facing additions, including stronger build quality and better camera hardware. The iPhone 15 Pro Max will exclusively feature a periscope lens for enhanced zoom capabilities. A tipster is now suggesting that the iPhone 15 Pro Max could see a massive delay due to severe supply yield issues from Sony concerning the device's image sensors.
Apple's iPhone 15 Pro Max could be delayed by up to 4 weeks due to supply yield concerns
The iPhone 15 Pro Max will probably be the most popular device to launch this year considering the number of novelties it will bring to the table. The 'Pro' models will be the first models to incorporate a 3nm A17 Bionic chip which will deliver enhanced computational and graphical performance. However, a leaker by the name of Revegnus on X suggests that the iPhone 15 Pro Max can be delayed by up to four weeks due to supplier's yield issues with the image sensor.
The larger model will equip a new periscope camera lens for enhanced zoom capabilities, allowing the flagship devices to compete better against the likes of the Galaxy S23 Ultra and the forthcoming Galaxy S24 Ultra. The yield issues from Sony are severe and can cause the iPhone 15 Pro Max to be delayed by as much as a month. If the news has any heft to it, Apple has to devise an alternative solution to the issue.
The yield issues with Sony, the supplier of image sensors for the iPhone 15 Pro Max, are severe. As a result, the release date of the iPhone 15 Pro Max could be delayed by up to approximately 4 weeks.

Currently, we are not aware of the issue that is causing the yield issues. Since the iPhone 15 Pro announcement is right around the corner, issues related to supply are immensely devastating as they would impact the potential sales of the flagship. There is no word if Apple has taken note of the issue or if it has devised any measures. Nonetheless, these are mere speculations at this stage and since Apple has already sent out press invites for the Wonderlust event on September 12, we suspect that any issues related to supply will be resolved by the time the devices will hit the shelves.
Apple will also update its standard iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus models with a Dynamic Island cutout on the front which will streamline the entire lineup with a uniform design. We have also reported earlier that Apple will be moving away from the Lightning port in favor of USB-C which could come with Thunderbolt capabilities for faster data transfer and charging speeds. Alongside the iPhone 15 Pro models, Apple will also announce the new Apple Watch Series 9 and upgraded Apple Watch Ultra with a titanium build. We will be covering the Wanderlust event in extensive detail. so do stick around.
