Apple is expected to bring a plethora of changes with the launch of iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Pro models. The standard iPhone 15 models will receive their share of improvements over the iPhone 14 but it will still fall behind the 'Pro' models. The company is planning to include exclusive features for the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max. Apart from the design and build material, the company is planning to massively improve the camera hardware of the iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Pro models.

It was previously reported that Apple is planning to include a new periscope lens on the iPhone 15 Pro Max. The new lens would allow enhanced zoom capabilities which will better compete against the Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra. However, take note that Apple will also upgrade the camera harder on the iPhone 15, iPhone 15 Plus, as well as the iPhone 15 Pro. According to a new report published by Taiwanese research firm TrendForce, the camera upgrades will be the 'star of the show' at Apple's event.
The report also mentions that the camera upgrades will be an important factor that will encourage users to upgrade to the latest models. However, the new build material will also offer a slightly different look than the stainless steel build on the 'Pro' models. Currently, the frame around the iPhone 14 Pro is quite shiny, giving users a mirror-like finish. We have previously heard that the iPhone 15 Pro models will come with a grade 5 titanium finish, offering a smooth non-reflective look. Nonetheless, the periscope camera on the iPhone 15 Pro Max will also be one of the major factors.
Additionally, these camera upgrades are not limited to the iPhone 15 Pro models as the standard models are slated to receive major upgrades as well. It was previously reported that the iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus will feature a stacked camera sensor from Sony which will be available on the 'Pro' models next year. The new camera sensor will capture more light, allowing the standard iPhone 15 models to perform better in darker scenarios.
With the iPhone 15 Pro Max's periscope lens capable of 5x to 6x optical zoom and the iPhone 15's stacked camera sensors, the hardware is sure to attract a lot of new buyers. At its Wonderlust event on September 12, the iPhone 15's camera will potentially be the highlight of the announcement. Additionally, the company is also looking to introduce USB-C on the entire iPhone 15 lineup which could offer faster data transmission and charging speeds.
