Mark Gurman from Bloomberg shared his thoughts on the iPhone 15 Pro's design, camera, and battery. We have heard some of the details before as well and these last-minute tidbits give us a pretty good guess for what to expect. The analyst also shared details on the Apple Watch Series 9 and Apple Watch Ultra 2 related to design and new sensors.
In terms of design, Gurman states that the iPhone 15 Pro models will feature slimmer bezels which will make the display appear bigger than the current models. Take note that Apple will keep the display size the same this year. Additionally, the analyst also notes that the titanium frame around the devices will feature a brushed look which means that it will be non-reflective. Furthermore, the front panel and the back glass will melt on the titanium frame which will give the device a more rounded feel. While titanium is stronger than stainless steel, it will reduce the iPhone 15 Pro's weight by 10 percent.
The iPhone 15 Pro models are also rumored to house a new Action Button that can be customized according to user preferences. Only the iPhone 15 Pro models will get the Action Button as the standard models will stick to the Mute Switch for now. As for internals, the iPhone 15 Pro models will be powered by the new A17 Bionic chip which will be fabricated on TSMC's 3nm process. The low power-hungry nature of the chip will contribute to better battery life while delivering enhanced CPU and GPU performance. The 'Pro' models are also reported to feature 8GB of RAM instead of 6GB on the current iPhone 14 Pro models.
Lastly, Gurman shares that the telephoto lens and the ultra-wide lens on the iPhone 15 Pro models will feature an increased megapixel count, allowing for detailed photos and videos. The periscope lens on the iPhone 15 Pro Max will be able to take photos with up to 6x zoom, bringing it closer to the likes of the Galaxy S23 Ultra.
