It is no surprise that USB Type-C has been around for as long as we can remember. OnePlus started using the standard back in 2015, which now seems like ages ago, and in 2016, the company introduced fast charging. There is nothing wrong with being a late adopter, which is the case with Apple and its newest iPhone 15 series. The newest iPhones offer USB Type-C, and because of being late to the party, they are now being targeted by OnePlus in a rather cheeky tweet.
iPhone 15 being mocked by OnePlus for finally bringing USB Type-C will do little to no harm to Apple
This sort of friendly banter is pretty common in the tech industry, but that does not stop OnePlus or Apple from being the behemoths of the smartphone world that they are. Of course, the Cupertino giant is going to enjoy a much higher shipment rate with or without the USB Type-C, so at the end of the day, it really doesn't matter who's attacking who.

Now, honestly, this is not the first time we have seen such attacks on Apple by other companies. For some reason, we never see this happening the other way around, and for good reason. I mean, just look at the global smartphone shipment statistics, and you will figure out what I am talking about.
Apple is one of the two biggest players in the smartphone industry in terms of units shipped, whereas OnePlus only has a 10% market share. The 10% share is shared with Oppo so that it further tells a story. I am not saying that either of the companies is bad. All I am saying is that one should pick their battles wisely and be sure they are not welcoming something from the opposition.
With that said, we all know that the iPhone 15 series is going to sell like hotcakes, and while some would argue that Apple has not done enough to improve the new generation of iPhones, that is far from true. Aside from the new USB Type-C port for charging, the new iPhones are a clear improvement over the last generation, and even if they are not, who is going to stop people from buying them because they are going to be sold out the minute they go on sale?
