This year, the Galaxy S23 Ultra, the A54, and the Z Flip 5 took home commendations, and we all know the history before this. The point is that the company knows what they are doing, but it seems that Samsung's upcoming flagship might have some issues.
Samsung removing the 10x optical zoom from Galaxy S24 Ultra would be a bad move
For a long, Samsung has included 10x optical zoom on its flagship phones, and while the feature might look like a gimmick, it works like a charm, and it surely is better than the digital zoom that most other companies are providing. However, new information has surfaced, and it claims that Samsung has decided to remove the 10x optical zoom camera from the Galaxy S24 Ultra, and this, honestly, is a sad situation if it actually is true.
Now, this might not be an issue for a lot of people, especially if they don't use the 10X optical zoom, but since I have used it in the past, and I know for a fact that it has improved drastically since it first debuted, it is sad that Samsung is giving up on the sensor for the upcoming Galaxy S24 Ultra instead of improving it even better. The source claims that it could be because Samsung is looking to replace the 10x with 5x optical zoom.
While the source has been spot on in the past, I would suggest that we take this with a grain of salt because Samsung could end up changing its mind about the upcoming Galaxy S24 Ultra. If, however, it is true, then I am interested in seeing what sensor replaces the 10x optical zoom sensor.
