The Pixel Watch 2 is going to debut on October 4th. This means that we are not that far from Google showing off its latest smartwatch, and honestly, considering how the original was a step in the right direction for a first attempt, I am hoping that the sequel also brings much-needed improvements.
Now, we have a report that claims that Google is equipping the Pixel Watch 2 with much-needed updates that would make the smartwatch a well-rounded offering for anyone in the market.
The Pixel Watch 2 is now looking like a feature-packed smartwatch that has something for everyone
The sources are claiming that the Pixel Watch 2 is going to bring a temperature measurement feature. The feature is also found on Fitbit Sense 2, and users can actually check their body temperature whenever they feel like it has increased or decreased. The app will also give you access to older readings through the app.
Another Fitbit Sense 2 feature making its way to the Pixel Watch 2 will be stress management. Google previously talked about how the new watch will feature a sensor that will be able to record electrodermal activity or EDA. With the help of the new sensor, the users will be able to manage their stress levels. So, if you are like me, and you are a bundle of stress and energy, this might be a good feature for you.
The leaked information also reveals that the Pixel Watch 2 will bring some safety features, too. For instance, the watch will automatically display the user's medical history and information when it detects a car crash. Of course, this feature is expected to work in harmony with the Car Crash Detection feature found on the Pixel phones.
The sources also claim that the Pixel Watch 2 will be able to schedule a Safety Check, the feature is already available on the Pixel phone, and it lets the users set a safety check every minute or hours. If the user, for some reason, does not respond to the safety check, the phone alerts their emergency contacts. You are going to need an active internet connection to make this work,.
Last but not least, the Pixel Watch 2 is also said to come with an Emergency Sharing feature that will let users share their location with their trusted contacts. The feature won't need you to have your device connected to the Pixel phone as it should work independently on watch models that will offer LTE connectivity.
Honestly, looking at all these features, it is safe to say that the Pixel Watch 2 looks like a stellar smartwatch and could really help bring Google's vision of a shared ecosystem to life. The watch, along with the Pixel 8 series, is due on October 4th, and we will keep you posted as we learn more about the new devices.
