There is no denying that the new iPhone 15 Pro and the Pro Max are the phones that you should be getting if you are looking for the absolute best Apple experience. The iPhone 15 Pro Max requires way more than your basic salary if you live in a less-developed country, but the same is the case with any other flagship that costs $1,199
Now, the iPhone 15 Pro Max is an expensive phone. Even for the base model with 256 gigs of storage, you are looking at $1,199. Which, let's be honest, is not cheap. To put things in perspective, World of Statistics shared some statistics outlining just how much monthly salary you will need to spend to buy a base-level iPhone, and the results might surprise you.

Honestly, the list does not really surprise me. If you start at the bottom of the list, you will see Switzerland, where you only have to spend 20% of your salary to get your hands on the base variant of the new iPhone 15 Pro Max. As you move up, you see the percentage start increasing, and by the time it reaches the Czech Republic, you start seeing the stark reality of countries that are not as developed as some of the countries below the Czech Republic.
The highest is Egypt, where you need to spend 821% percentage of your monthly salary to be able to afford an iPhone 15 Pro Max, followed by Pakistan, where you will need to spend 81% percent of your monthly salary. Now, it is obvious that there are a lot of other factors in play, as well. For instance, the percentages here are taken on an average salary in these countries, and not the salary of each and every individual, but you still cannot shun away the fact that premium smartphones are only becoming more and more expensive.
Before the anti-Apple individuals jump the gun, I would like to make it clear that if it were the Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra, it would start on the same story because that phone also costs $1,199 for the base variant. The Galaxy Z Fold 5, on the other hand, costs $1,799. So, blaming Apple is not really going to do anything because, at the end of the day, the iPhone 15 Pro Max is still not the most expensive smartphone by a major brand.
